98 yz125 fork swap questions

the fork on my 98 yz125 is toast and i need to get a new one, i've found a fork off a 2004 yz250 for a pretty good price.

i'm pretty sure the fork tube diameter is different so i dont think i can use the same tree, but if i got the whole tree set up with the tree would it bolt onto my frame?

I'm pretty sure the clamps will work but you will need to swap the steering stems and use your bearings or get new ones. I'm pretty sure the offset is a little different. Or a good machine shop could bore your clamps to fit the bigger forks.

I have a pair of forks from a '02 YZ125, the same 46mm KYB. They need oil seals. $100 plus shipping or I can do the seals/bushings/oil/bump stops for $150 more. Springs are stock. Triple clamps included.

thanks for the offer! but i think i've actually found another set locally off an 03 yz250 which if I've done my research correctly, should fit right up, and has stiffer springs which isn't a bad thing since i'm definitely on the heavy side for a yz125 anyways.
