That sounds like the shift drum bearing. The drum has two of them, one on each end.
A photo would be nice.
You should be able to take the bearing to a bearing supply store to find a replacement.

The bearing you ordered is the correct part number. It's the same part since 2001. Should be a 6003 bearing. Maybe the first bearing you ordered was packaged incorrectly, or double check the part number and make sure one of the middle numbers isn't incorrect.

The # 10 bearing should be the correct bearing based on the parts drawings I can find. I think they may have shipped an incorrect bearing or there is a flaw it the parts numbers cross reference of the supplier.
Try looking the part up at different oem parts sights to be sure and or call the supplier.
The part number you show matches the output shaft bearing I see in other drawings.

Yeah, I'm thinking ebay did it to me again. lol. I think that is the right bearing but they sent either 2 or 11. I did order #2 but I also ordered #10. I think they shipped 2 and 11.

Why not just order it from one of the OEM suppliers on line like Motosports, Bike Bandit or BTO?

I figured it out. It is bearing #10. I called the Yamaha dealer to make sure that was the correct bearing. Then I ordered it through Partszilla. I had them open the box and make sure it was a "10 ball" ball bearing and not an "8 ball".
