Amsoil synthetic, or maxima premium 4 is good stuff! Havent had a single issue with them. Just be careful when installing/uninstalling the oil filter cover. My oem chipped off a chunk of metal and had to order a new one. I'd reccommend a billet aluminum one from the get go.

Lucas Oil moly synthetic, plain synthetic, or semi synthetic all have treated me well. Use a hour meter, keep track of any changes you make, and change regularly.

My local race shop recommended Chevron Delo 400. I put 93 hrs on the bike then had it professionally rebuilt by the same tuner- a complete deal with crank, piston, cylinder head reconditioning with new valves and seals. The tuner showed me all my old parts (head, crank, main bearings, piston, etc) and there was easily another 50 hrs left on the parts. The only real wear was some pitting on 2nd gear. Any professional tuner will tell you to plan on replacing 2nd gear if the crank is replace as it is a common wear item.

Anyway, I was happy with the result. Oil was changed every 2-3 rides, and always a new air filter.
