I decided do small makeover for my trusty -13 150SX instead of getting a new bike for next summer. After two seasons my starts to look bit beaten and I want do some performance upgrades too.

Here is where I started:

Bud Racing Cylinder head for added power

Found almost unused Pro Circuit linkage arm for the bike

Got used WP Track shock from a Finnish pro

New graphics kit from http://www.motosticker.eu/

New radiators from GPI Racing because my right side radiator is leaking

I'm also thinking about getting blue Selle Da Valle factory seat for my bike, bike the current seats foam has become pretty soft.

New piston and needle bearing installed

Torquing cylinder bolts

New cylinder head in its place

New bearings for brake pedal from Ebay. A lot cheaper than oem stuff

Pro Circuit linkage arm compared to stock

Lower shock bearing was gone

Trax shock with Pro Circuit arm and new lower shock bearing installed and all other bearings greased

I think I'm too slow and unfit for the MXB class Smile I'm going to do just some local club races next year like I did this summer.

The numbers are on the bike are too big for the KTM side number plates so I had to install them crooked. I got the numbers for the bike just half an hour before I was going to race it didn't have any other options at the time. After that I have just left them on the bike and did some more races with them. I'm going to get correct size numbers for the side number plates when I install new graphics kit on the bike.

I did some testing with the Trax shock on Saturday and it felt amazing right out of the box although I had too rich needle installed on my bike and it ran like crap. I didn't even touch any clickers because I felt it was working perfectly for the track conditions. The rear end had lot more planted feel and acceleration traction was amazing.

Got some decals installed today

Chinese GPI radiators turned out be total crap. Fitment was poor and left side radiator broke just after 4 hours of riding. I'm going get my original left side radiator leak repaired and will be using that instead.

The GPI radiators can be hit or miss I guess. I've heard of other guys having fitment issues. I had put some on my old kx250f, the fitment was tight because they were oversize but those things were stout as hell...Never had any problems out of em and they were way better than OEM.

Ryno429 I really like what you done with your bike!

I was thinking about getting my frame painted to orange too but maybe I just leave it to original color. There are so many KTM's with orange frame already

Thanks, its definitely not easy to powder coating a KTM frame mainly because of how long it takes to blast off the oem powder, that stuff is like cement. But I do love how it turned out.

Let me know how that bud head works out, it looks super trick!

Build is looking great. Looks like fun, new bikes are cool but remaking a trusty bike like yours is so much fun in my opinion.

Small progress again today

I have already ridden the bike with Bud Racing cylinder head about five hours and it feels like bike has more torque in low rpm's and it revs more freely compared to stock. It also helped with detonation issues i had with the bike.

I changed stock wheels with studded tires on the bike today and went out for a ride with my brother.

Studded tire made contact with my rear shock mud guard and shredded it to pieces

What happens if you do a big jump with those studs? They will bury into the fenders when you bottom out and launch you over the handlebars !!!

Traction is really good when there's not much snow on the ground. When there is too much snow tire starts to flow on top of the snow and riding becomes bit sketchy.

The studs aren't really sharp. They are designed to endure contact to frozen ground and aren't pointy as pure ice tire studs. When you bottom out your suspension studs only leave small marks on the bottom of the fenders. Only difference is that the bike feels bit different in the air due to weight of the studs.

Hello I can't understand anything on the motostickers site, don't they have an english version? And do they make them with custom colors?

They used to have English version of the web site but now it's gone for some reason. They do make custom graphics kits with any colors and logos you want. Send email to Martynas davainis@msn.com. He speaks very good English and replies usually pretty fast

It's been a while when I last updated this thread. I got the bike in summer trim with new Dunlop MX32 rear tire.

Nice blue color on the exhaust pipe Smile
