2007 Honda CR125 Airbox Ring

Is it true an earlier model outside airbox ring will fit a 2007 Honda CR125? I was told a 1992 Honda CR250 ring is metal and will fit up to my 2007 Honda CR125 or will some other year metal ring fit?
