Couple small updates. Finally just got this bike back in running condition. My rear shock blew out while sitting for a couple months during winter. I had the extra tank removed and Factory Connection blatter cap installed.

Also bought some 2013-2016 CRF450 PC triple clamps, but I haven't had my stem pressed in yet. Can't decide if I want to leave them raw silver, or anodize them red to match my CR125.

Here is how she sits now, ready to ride. Hopefully I'll ride her next week! I haven't tried the stock pipe, 304 full length silencer yet, and I went back to a 49 from a 50.

Hey Jared,

Any chance you could share how much money you have into this rebuild so far?

Probably around $7500 because it was my first build and I bought some parts I didn't need and other parts that I changed soon after. I could probably build it cheaper now that I know more. I love it though, the bike is special to me. I will have close to $10k in it when it's done how I fully want it. I've sold some of my extra parts, and I'm not paying that close attention to the total cost, I'm just enjoying my bike.

I wish, it's my first build, I didn't know much when I started. I'm smarter a little now, I could have it much closer to $6k. My CR125 has good parts, some better than this 250 and I'm around $5500. But I'm getting ready to spend big $$ on a FULL motor rebuild, so the projects never end and money never stops. It's super fun though!

No need to swap stems. The stem that's on those PC clamps will fit perfect and if those clamps are for a 13-16 CRF450, they use the same lower bearing as the old CRs. They should bolt right up. Great looking bike BTW.

Huh, interesting. Those bearings are trashed though on the CRF clamps I got. They were used from a pro team in Europe.

Helluva job jared, lot of good vibe's in your post, the last sentence is what it's all about. Props to you.

So does that mean I can bolt up a set of forks from a 2010 crf250 with a new set of triple clamps onto my 2007 cr250 also

Nice bike by the way mate

You guys have so much good gear floating around over there we struggle a bit here in Aus makes it hard and expensive

Nice Scoot ! Did you end up doing a full motor rebuild & were any mods done to the engine ? The Honda case reed engines respond really well to mods..
Agree about the 09-12 CRF KYB suspension being really good with some work done to them. Recently sold a 10 CRF450r & wished I could have kept the boingers. They were dialed by FC..

I just did a PWK Air Stryker 38 and V-Force. I didn’t fully rebuild the motor, just the top end.

I hate too as well, but I can’t justify them just sitting in my garage. Most people don’t want to buy a rebuilt bike for $7k, so parting out works better. And then people are actually enjoying all the parts I searched for. I’m not fully decided if I’m parting it out yet, most likely I will.

Exactly! Part it and cash out. To many low ballers won’t pay you what it’s worth and they don’t understand the time it takes to build one.

Yep. To many low ballers out there. I hadn't sold a bike in a while & was surprised by the ridiculous low ball offers. Recently sold a well set up 450 with some $ put into the bike, but was able to recoup about 70% of it.

If you do part out, I would be very interested in the suspension. I met you up at Merwin, I had the 02 Cr250 that was super boggy that day and asked you about advice. You had the 96 with you that day quading out of the straight rythem

This is really nice man. I’m just coming up to finishing my 2002 CR250 build. In some ways, it’s quite similar to yours!

I talked to Shaun about an A kit. They show up from time to time for Honda's. I'll keep my eyes open. I had a super clean one for sale about two months ago. I ended up trading it. Most of them are for crf you just will have to shorten it 10mm and it will be good to go. That's what I've had to do with mine in the last. Not sure if you have ridden on the modern 48mm forks. If I ever build another Honda rider I'll be using the 48mm forks and an A kit shock. Those modern Showa 48mm are really good.
I actually emailed you about your A Kit you had. What year 48mm forks are you talking about? You shorten the forks 10mm, how do you...
