I recently picked up an 02 CR 125 off Craigslist for a grand. Due to being married and purchasing a home soon, I couldn't convince the wife to let me swing a newer used 4 stroke, haha. I still ended up putting about $600 into parts. I should have everything in the next week so I can finish it. But here it is so far...

Before touching it -

Starting to tear it down -

And now starting to build it back together -

Had the rims powder coated and then bead blasted the hubs.

More photos (better quality) to come in the next week...

I'm doing another 02 right now too. It's a Plano Honda shark energy bike.

I was able to work on it for a few hours after work last night. I trued the front wheel and put it on as well as assembled most of the front end... Now just waiting for the rest of the parts to come in, should be late this week.

I've heard that you can put a 97 cylinder on there and it's supposed to run better.

Made some more progress last night. Put on the (new) radiators/hoses, gas tank, back shock, subframe, and pipe.

Looking good man! How was the fitment on the GPI radiators? About to order some myself. It is amazing how much the bike modernizes with the front fender and plate from the newer bikes. Wink

Thanks! They fit great! Didn't have any problems, they bolted right up. I have a few friends that have used them too and say they're awesome. Can't believe they're only $100...

More progress last night... Now just waiting for the new back spokes so I can assemble the wheel, a new mudflap, and gas cap. Hoping to finish up the bike early next week.

How is the fitment of the radatiors on the pipe side? The reason I ask is I'm thinking about a set for my sons 125, but the stock radiator is really close to the pipe already.

The fitment was good. I ordered hoses too, and we did have to cut 2 of the hoses to fit better near the pipe. But the actual radiator fitment is good.

Good job looks nice. I would pull these fork tubes flush in the clamps.

Besides riding it around the back yard, I hadn't got to put any real seat time on it. I have to wait for my insurance to kick in January 1st... I have a few buddies though that have the same radiators and they have held up great for them.

Are you still running the GPI radiator hoses? If so, have they given you any problems?
