10/7/2009 6:32 AM Hey I just bought a leftover 08 yz450 not sure how different they are but I'm coming off an 09 CRF450 and I like the YZ much better. The only thing that you have to change is the muffler since the stock one kills the power. The suspension out of the box is the best i have ridden. Also the reduced prices don't hurt.

10/7/2009 9:46 AM just picked up the 09 450f two weeks ago - ive only ridden it once so far but it was a blast. i think for the price, you cant beat it. you should be able to find them brand new for around $5400

10/8/2009 7:20 PM i've had my 09 for almost a year now and I love it. I got to ride a 09 suzuki 450 fi this weekend and it felt like a turd to me. the suzuki had factory connection suspension and the stock suspension on my yz kills it. the 09 yz handles much better than the 08 also.

10/11/2009 6:18 PM I was told to get a DrD exhaust system, with the savings from the bike price and also the DrD radiator lowering kit, which is supposedly only compatible with his pipe.
I think I would trust Dubach stuff on a Yamaha, don't you? "If your friends don't moto, find new friends"

That is the article I was looking for. I only need the stainless/aluminum model.
I read the article twice and I can't see where they even mention the decibel rating on the DrD muffler. Thanks! "If your friends don't moto, find new friends"

10/13/2009 5:45 PM its number #1 under 'whats it do?"..it said the stocker from this year was quieter than last years, but no number on it
whats stock? minus 1..and the dr.D pipe will make it even quieter ride like the wind at double speed,i'll take ya places that you've never seen |

10/29/2009 3:18 PM My 08 was the best bike I have ever owned. My friend had an 09 and it felt identacle to mine. I had a pro circuit ti4 pipe and loved it till it broke. Replaced it with a dr d stanless alluminum and couldnt believe how much better it was. Lowering the radiators didnt seem to make much differance to me. Hopefully my 10 is at least as good as my 08 was

10/29/2009 10:04 PM well..i just broke mine in and hit the trails
this is the best out of box bike i have ever ridden..i could brake slide into corners with my feet up and hit the throttle ,feet up, body forward over the tank, and just motor side ways the front end feels so solid ..i haven't adjusted the preload yet jumping felt stable as can be its so stable..ruts and bumps were covered with the power on after riding 2 strokes for all my life, this is just an awesome ride.. i'm so stoked..can't wait to own the vet class at 54 ride like the wind at double speed,i'll take ya places that you've never seen |

thats good to hear that you enjoy the bike but remember be careful with those bolts! theres like 3 drain bolts plus the filter..i can see if you over tighten those bolts where you would run into problems
these four strokes sure are more complicated..i have the shop manual ,so i'm on the right track ride like the wind at double speed,i'll take ya places that you've never seen |
