I recently bought a 2003 YZ250. Runs strong, starts first kick almost everytime. Bike has a full PC Exhaust. (Platinum 2 w/304 Shorty). Gearing is 13/48. The throttle response is very good, better than my 05 YZ125.
Anyhow, I have a question. The bike pulls really good in the low end, in the mid range but the top end is pretty flat compared to my 2006 RM250 which had a FMF Gnarly w/ Shorty.
Every review I've read is that the 03 motor was really good, and have a broad powerband. I will upload a video by the end of tonight or tomorrow evening. Any suggestions? Winter is getting close, so riding is limited in my area right now!

Or, does the bike smoke a ton like the right side seal is bad? That will cause a rich-like running condition in the top end and won't rev out cleanly.
