sounds like the float height may have been disturbed/main jet is partially blocked or possibly the fuelhas gone off. I doubt it will be the jetting if it was running nicely last time. unless it was jetted right on the edge and the weather has changed dramaticcly from the time it was jetted. also check the plug/cap/lead are all good and haven't come loose. its bound to be summat simple mate

Bike ran great the last time I rode it, and there was no drastic weather change really, it was about 60-65 last time I rode it and about 75 Sunday when it started messing up. I will look the carb over good and see if it is dirty inside or not, I had the bowl off about 2 months ago and it was as clean as a whistle inside.

Make sure the pilot (slow speed) jet is clean and you can see thru it clearly.

Could be the right main seal. You would notice a very large amount of smoke pouring out of the exhaust in this scenario.

I read that having the idle too high can have this effect. There's a special way to get the pilot and idle speed set to where you obtain a good pilot setting without the bike loading. I haven't figured it out, but I know it can be done. If the weather's getting warmer than it was a month ago, it might just be time to go down on the pilot.

I've never really messed with jetting in a carb before, other than just removing and cleaning them. I have a manual though and it seems the jet needle is adjustable, I will see if I can adjust it a notch and see if that helps any.

Get the airstyker carb from JD. I have an 03 always an issue with jetting even with correct jet kit. I put the Kehin air stryker pre jetted form JD and its the best bolt on you can have for a cr 250. I hesitated for so long to spend the 250.00 but it was well worth it.

I don't have personal experience....but from what I understand that carb needs a rejet every 10 degrees of change

Fuel mix that old will have drawn in some h20 and will not run correctly. Try fresh fuel mix.
