I just preordered a Radiopopper transmitter and a couple of receivers. I'll say goodbye to the ebay flash triggers!

I'm excited about full canon ettl (reliably) from off camera speedlites!

Cant wait to try some high speed sync flash off camera with 1/2000 shutter speeds at f/2.8 with buttery backgrounds!

I'm "superpumped"!

Donald

Edit: my post count shows zero since the new board switchover. Just to let you know I've been here a long time and this isn't spam. I'm not affiliated with this product.
Only superpumped bout it.

I have looked into them but haven't decided. I guess I am waiting to hear some feedback from people who own and use them compared to the ebay triggers and pocket wizards. Let me know how they work.

I also have a couple sets coming in on thursday the 24th (ups tracking). Im very excited to not be restricted in light placement anymore due to line of sight nor have to deal with missfires and unreliability in daylight.

Im going to shoot some MX with them next weekend, then a wedding the week after.

These are going to be AWESOME.

RP's came today. The "installation" was simple and so far my set works flawlessly. They will fire all the way through my building about 6 rooms away. The only issue is how to fit them into my rolling case already attached to my speedlights, I don't want to have to retape the fiberoptic cable each time to seperate them. Space in the rolling case is tight.

I still have not gotten notification of shippment!
I'm shooting 400 kids baseball team and individual photos Saturday. Would've been great to have them for that.

Oh well, I'll keep waiting.

Nate are you going to do any type of review? I'd love to hear your thoughts especially when you use them for some moto work.

Hey Nate, keep us posted with your experiences. I've been watching RP's progress on Strobist but I'd like to hear more from field users like yourself. TTL with slaves is pretty sexy...

Just as a basic update: the day I went to the track to shoot, I found a single SB600 wasn't nearly enough light to make much difference because it was VERY bright that day (not a cloud in the sky), so "testing" the radiopoppers was moot. Although they did work fine and my flash was triggering wirelessly in daylight without fail.

I have used them at weddings and personal work and they have been 100% perfect so far.

Next time out to shoot MX, Im going to try going triple or quad speedlights on a lightstand to get a big chunk of power. I need to hit Home Depot and make a bracket to hold 4 speedlights on one lightstand. Maybe enough to underexpose the ambient by a stop or two hopefully. And it won't be that hard to carry around at a MX track. Not quite Joy McNally's SB800 tree but close.

Did you ever receive our radiopoppers? I am trying to decide between these and the PW, but I don't want to wait 3 months to receive something.
