I loved those boots. I think I'm the ony one that did. They were light even when they got wet and protected your legs and feet really well. Your knees not so much. They also tore your side plates up pretty good. I hated the red and blue colors. I didn't like going back to regular boots

I have a pair. They must be a size 9.

I was born in 79 but I was always fascinated by pictures of them. I got mine on ebay in 2000.

I rode in them once for the hell of it in about 02. I remember they were extremely difficult to get into and buckled up but once they were on they didnt feel much different than a modern hinged boot with all the plastic and stiffness we're used to now. For guys back then it had to be a huge difference going from a pair of hi points to the scott boot.

I know they damaged alot of knees but some guys did like the protection. My uncle claimed he could kick big rocks and not feel a thing.

Does anyone know if the later ones. ..like the yellow and black that were out in 81 were any different from the early red/blue ones besides the colors?

Man I hated those things . When I first got them I would only wear them during practice , then switch back to High-Points during the motos. I could not feel the shifter with my toe and missed shifts a lot . Then just as I got used to them I tore my knee ligaments making a last lap Banzai move in the last corner , and never wore them again.

The only difference was the cour combo, ,, oh n maybe the price went up a bit,,, back in the day I was essex school boy champion
& the boots were made popular over here in the UK through the motocross action magazine ,,, plenty of pictures of hannah in mid flight
On a YZ....me as a school boy wanting a pair,,, ended up swaping a new DG exhaust for a yz125 which i was riding at the time for a pair of slightly used red, blue ones,,,

I had the black and yellow ones. Nerve racking trimming the tops down. If I remember the booties wore poorly but the boots were indestructible.

So many people ruined thier knees from those boots. It must have been them because there never was a knee injury in mx before the boots came out or after they disappeared.

I think they were the best boots ever made and I had several pairs.

One of the problems was not the boot but the price of the boot, cost was $180.00 and leather boots were about $85.00 that may not sound like much but back then that was a lot of coin for boots when you could buy a 125 for about $1200.00

Had a pair of these back in the day, Red/Blue.

Anyway, what made them bad on the knees was that there was no left to right give at the ankle, so if the foot got twisted at all, the twisting motion translated past the ankle, up to the knee.

Protective as hell, until you started twisting them. I also remember there was no feel at all for the shift lever, you got used to it, but going from leather to that solid plastic took a little getting used to.

I had a Red/Blue pair. Cut the tops down. Never could get the booties to go in the boots properly, so ended up putting a foot bed in the boot, wearing thick socks without the liners. I loved them and raced moto, enduro, scrambles with them for about 4 years. I had a pair of Heckles in 74 and 75. The Scotts were way better.
