Just picked up a 1985 CR250 , my teenage dream bike, and trying to find some things to do a light restoration on it. Been burning up google but not finding a great source. Best luck i've had is dc plastic, but wondering if theres some others I've missed. Looking for a seat cover, swingarm decals, chain guard, misc stuff. Thanks.

I have a used Pro Circuit pipe for your '85.
It needs the hanger bracket welded. A few dings but it should clean up nice (raw finish).

If you have a DG pipe on it now, are you still running it with the ATAC chamber? I have a DG pipe on my '85 CR250, and it uses a special exhaust plate that bypasses (actually eliminates) the ATAC chamber. If you have the same setup as I have, the Pro Circuit pipe and stock pipe will not work. You will need to re- install the ATAC. I have a near mint Pro Circuit pipe as well, and it does not fit. I personally like the way mine runs without the ATAC.

Hmm, I will have to look. I haven't had a MX bike in over 25 years so its safe to say I'm out of the loop

Just googled some pictures. Yup the atac chamber is definitely gone on my bike. So DG is the only pipe that will fit it now? If so I might as well just get this one straightened out

Yes, you will have to keep the DG pipe. Or go on eBay and get the ATAC and associated parts. I have some extra parts for this bike if you run across something you may need.

I'll look and see if I have an extra filter cage. I don't think so, but will check and let you know.

Hi Can99,
Looked around the garage this weekend, sorry no airbox stuff. Good luck with your CR. It's a good solid bike.

Thanks guys. Slowly making progress with it, but every turn finding more evils of a 32 year old mx bike. Such as theres a big chunk missing out of the cases where the swing arm bolt passes through so need to pick those up too. Ebay has been pretty good for this stuff. One step forward and two back.

How is the water pump / clutch cover? Unfortunately, the mid 80's on Honda CR''s had the corrosion issues. Search this site for some excellent info on replacement parts from other models or reproduction covers being made.

It's pretty hosed. Flushed out the rads and seemed to get good results from that, but will need to do some love to the water pump area. saving the engine for last. I rode it before buying, so it's all there but probably have it freshened and figure out what i'm doing with the clutch case

Yeah, mine was corroded and leaking into the tranny. I was lucky enough to find an NOS one and use Evans waterless coolant now to avoid the same problem. There is a guy in Australia, Russell something, that is reproducing them in aluminum. They are not cheap of course, but the only game in town. As I mentioned before, other model year CR'S will work, you just have to find the parts. Search this site for all of the info. Good luck.
