What are some of your favorite bikes from years past and why? Post a picture of one (find a picture of the bike in its stock form if you can). I have a few favorites, but the ones that stand out the most are the 1990 Kawasakis. I guess I like them because I was just a little guy back then and I remember having little toy Kawasakis with the same paint splatter graphics and stuff (although I think the toys were KDX250s from the early 80's with 1990 KX graphics painted on). Besides that, I remember seeing them in magazines and videos and they just looked so rad to me. I'll probably post some more later.

Man when I got this bike, I thought I had the racing world by the tail...I think it was 1970 maybe 71 After awhile the shift pin wore down, and would slid out of location. What ever gear I was in at the time is where it stayed until fixed...I learned to pop the side case off, slid it back in, replace the case in under ten minutes. Never thought of actually replacing the pin for a new one. ~ Show me a good loser, and I'll show you a loser ~

you never forget your first
My first high performance model. It came with a powerband
This one was my all time favorite. Bultacos had a lot of soul.
I won my first moto on this 79 KX250
The 80 Uni-Track was cool untill the frame started cracking .
Got lots of holeshots on this 85 YZ
I finished in the top 5 on this beast everytime I raced it unless it jumped on me.
The best turning bike I have ever ridden.

1985 YZ250 - Fastest bike of it's time. I raced an 80, 125, and this 250 one weekend at Washougal. Only did that once! But i didi win the 80 and 250 class that day. 1980's Motocross was the best! It was Heaven and we never knew it!

Just like the other XR75 above, this was my first, and it started it all for me and lead to a bunch of bikes to follow. Including a mini-elsinore that was out of control for a kid to handle. And a bunch of early RM's that were a blast.

I would like to have my 1979 Honda CR250 again but decided to buy a 1982 Honda CR480 to ride in some AHRMA events in the +50 class. The CR480 corners great and with the 4 speed trans it pulls like my CRF450. Just raced Devil's Ridge a few weeks ago and rode the race in 2nd and 3rd gear.

I'm looking for a motor for this 1972 Yamaha DT2MX. I may just find a DT250 motor to put in it and ride it in a few vintage Cross Country events.

Don't really have a favorite old bike, but I wish I had stuck with this one for a bit longer.

This one; and the 30 or more others I bought. That Bul except for the Hangtown debacle was dead nuts reliable. Very fav was my '90 YZ250. LOOK AHEAD TO STAY AHEAD.

1989 Honda CRs I guess I like these because that's when I was born and it's cool to see how far motocross has come since I've been alive. Plus, they're so clean and simple looking. 1990 Honda CRs Same reason--they're really clean and simple looking.

My Mini-Elsinore, took a CR125 Elsinore, cut down the frame, sleeved down the motor and put smaller wheels. And then hung on to a little rocketship.
