Not mine but my first bike. Next was a Montadero and then 2 different Pursangs. In my home town Bultaco's were very popular.
The Shop
Have owned 8 Bultacos over the years. First bike ever was a 1970 Sherpa T. All total I had 3 sherpas, 1 matador, and 4 Pursangs. The only new one was a Model 120 Blue tanked 250 Pursang bought in Lawrence, Ks in May 1974. That motorcycle made me a racer.
Photo's from the top.
#1 - The late Willie Crabbe running over Garth Brow's head. Both Astro mounted.
The two color photo's stuck to the album page with Nixon and my good friend Dan at Weedsport , New York.
Dan lent Gary his Bul after Nixon's primary ride blew up. AHRMA National '95-'96 ish.
#32 Garth Brow , #140 Tommy Norris, #4C Roger Crump, all Astro mounted.
#15 Mike Gerald at the Astrodome, on what else ???
#18 Terry Poovey on the Astro, Springer on the #1 H-D 250 MX engine bike.
I bummed a ride one night on a friends 250 Astro. It was the last year, latest model, 1979.
Great handling bike and fast, but the Femsatronic took a dump, and it coasted silently to a stop .
Invitational entry only, Bultaco Astro 's only. Jay Springsteen, Steve Morehead, Garth Brow, Chris Carr, Joe Kopp, Dave Aldana, and other former Pro's from the past line up for a full program of Astro only racing.
Last year was at the Springfield Short track in Illinois.
