I need a YZ125G (80) or H (81) tank. Doesn't have to be beautiful, just restorable.

Drop me an email at kmosher@bx.org with any leads.

Thanks,
Kurt

Look up Ted Mink in Az. over on Mark's Motorcycle Swapmeet. Just run down the page and you'll probably see an ad of his. He has a whole buttload of Yamaha tanks, might have your flavor.

Yep, that is older, 76 to be exact. The tank I need comes on the last of the air cooled and the first of the water cooled.

That 76 model YZ125 tank has to be the sleekest, trickest tank in the history of production motocross bikes. Not to mention it's aluminum just like the works bikes of the day. It looks like it's going 72mph just sitting on the bench. I might be interested in it just to restore and put on display. Either that or it could be the starting point for an HL500 project!! Some of my project bikes have started with less......

I don't like 4 bangers much but that one looks real nice.

I have a bunch of TT500 engine stuff out in the garage with some home made sleeves and a couple custom cut Arias pistons. Friend of mine is a machinist and had made a bunch of stuff years ago. I helped him sell it all and he let me keep a few pieces! It will be 640cc. That is probably the only other full size four stroke MX bike I'll be interested in.

I have one for you mosher, but I'm currently using it on my 1980 YZ125 haha. Sorry.

I saw the one on ebay and it looked pretty good.

Yes it is. Hance has offered to let me race it when it's finished and I'm super pumped. It should be done soon.
