This sleeve needs to be pressed into the top clamp to take up the space between the smaller diameter 500 stem and the larger opening of the KXF clamp.



Motion Pro handle, seemed to work just fine.







At this point I realized that I didn't have the correct bar mounts...

A bit further along in the mock up process.



I have CYCRA fork guards in green that I will run with this. The older green shrouds will not stay on here. I have NOS oem purple shrouds to use. Or, new green with my purple graphic? Thoughts?

Nice, yes think about it. I really dont need the seat, have a 1994 NOS already, but the shrouds i really want, maybe the tank too, that would be nice. Do you have any pictures of the tank? What kind of dollars are we talking about for the tank n for the shrouds, IF you decide to sell any of it? Thanx /Joakim

I will get pictures of the purple tank and shrouds tomorrow. In all honesty, I haven't given much thought to a price? I'm still up in the air on parting with the purple shrouds.

The tank ran me $329 and the shrouds were about $58 each when I bought them.....

This project had to take a back seat for a bit. Too many irons in the fire for me. I'm not sure if I want to part with my violet shrouds and purchase green ones? If I do, I'll talk to my graphics place and come up with a different look for the shroud graphic. Maybe just flip the violet and green? Thoughts?

To give a input on your project, use some purpleSmile (Now you know I really want to buy your purple shrouds so ofcourse i wont say use them haha;P) But use say green green shrouds, and put some purple on those, so underestimated the combination of green and purple so my advise is to not turn to far of from that combo, would make a really nice bike with that fork, aluminium tank and some green-purple to top a real K5 off! But thats just my advise but I do belive it would be neat!!! And if you sell me the purple stuff I'll send you some pics of what im doing as a project, but only to you, the rest of the members here will see when its done!Smile I think you would like it!!

Are you going to run a stock front fender or staying with the modern plastic? I like that body style of the KX. It was the last mx bike before they gave mx bikes future looking space ship lines.

In digging through my goods, I found 1 lone violet shroud. I will have to hunt and see if I can find the other side somewhere. That would open up the option of, if you just wanted shrouds or the whole set up?

I have the new fender currently, I used it in the mock up. I really would like to figure out a rear fender to trim the lines of the 500 a bit. If I do the same swap on the '91 250 I'll run a new KXF fender on that one for sure. I want to mess with a '91+ KX250 subframe and rear plastic on a KX 500..... Thoughts?

Okok yes im probably interested in buying the whole package, tank n shrouds! There is no hurry but i will hunt until i get what i must haveTongue I'll send you some pics later of what im doingSmile About your bike i really think you should have the right rear end and not switch to a later design, i really think the elephant/mammuth/rhino kranium styled tank n shroud set up with the big un edgy rear is whats define theese big bore monsters and the look really fits the concept of raw machine, and that alu tank really fits i think, and if you go green a purple seat n purple graphics would do it!Smile

I'm not a huge fan of the kx500 rear fender but it matches the lines of the rest of the bike. Or at least I'm used to it from looking at it for so many years. I suppose if you run the newer front fender, the '91 KX250 rear fender might tie it together. Are you going for a more modern TUF Racing bike?

I used those newer plastics just because I had them on hand. The 500 will most likely get the correct front fender and front plate. Newer fork guards will have to be used because of the newer lug mounting points. As for the rear end, I'm going to stick with the original.

Looks like I will be selling this project. Violet tank and shrouds are on hold as well as the aluminum tank. Not sure who might be interested, but if so let me know.

Found this thread out as I purchased an 89 kx 125 in boxes last weekend and I'm thinking of doing a TUF theme with my build..... Would you consider selling this panel? I will do a build thread I think as I have done a few builds but never documented them on here.
