Makes an old round slide think it is a flat slide. Billet trickness from the late John Astleford for the round slide Mikunis. Requires dropping the pilot size approximately in half and sure makes one crisp off the bottom.

DC Plastics makes a plastic insert to replicate this unobtanium. Not sure how good theirs works.

Goes on my money pit 74 CR250M. It hasn't seen much action in quite a few years.

When I had my KX125-A3 I found a few companies listing those for sale. Seen people use epoxy too.

Sorry, the slide stuffers have been around for 20 years, in the snowcross, snowmobile crowd
Under many different product names UFO, thundercat, black magic etc

No need to apologize Rob. I got this slide from John about 17 years ago I guess so I am aware of how long it has been around.

The smooth bottom slide goes back to the 82-83 KX era
They are Mikuni oval bore venturi, round slide,,with smooth bottom and a contour around the needle. I have a half dozen of these carbs 'cause some rules say no flat slides..next best thing. They have rings around slide tower as a visual clue.

Just another part to try, but the average racer should train /practice , and keep the rest of the bike in top shape
or spend money on the suspension

Back when I was an average racer I did train and practice...Laughing

That bike has been an evolving project raced by me from 1992 until a few years ago. Sometimes life got in the way and it got parked, (or the engine got sold!) but it was always there when we could get back to racing. Lots of broken parts got upgraded over the years. The carb slide was a great performance part on the modded piston port engine. But funny you mention suspension, Race Tech has been notified just this Monday that forks will be headed their way and I am filling out the forms for a set of their G3-S rear shocks. Engine is on the way out for a refresh, some full pack crank bearings and the new tranny that Stevie Denton sourced for me.
