Bell re popped the Moto 3. So I did another replica helmet I wore.
Here's my old Simpson,,1985,,The day I took it out of box I was at Diamond back helping Bob Hannahs mechanic Brian Lunis. They where racing on a stock 1985 CR250 showroom bike from local dealer and brought their topend to swap on it. My old rm125 was broke and I hadn't got my new one yet,,but I went anyhow to sell parts with my sponsor. Brian had several things to do, including disassemble forks there at track, and I volunteered to help for the afternoon. He was very meticulous and had to lay everything out wiped off for inspection. Bob won both motos from bad starts,,and was awesome to hang with that day. I went back to our parts truck and got this off shelf and took back for him to autograph. He said where? I handed it to him and pointed at back,,he smiled and spun it around and autographed it from ear to ear,LOL. Wish I had pictures from that day..but cameras where cumbersome,,and no cell phones like today...I had it cleared that week and then added the bolts and my name. The other names on it are top sprint car drivers I was fans of and added in years to come..Sammy Swindell,Steve Kinser,Ed Lynch Sr, and Bobby "Scruffy" Allen. Its scraped up from crashing at 80+mph racing flat track in 1987 that had me unconscious for 24 hours, and 2 weeks of concussion and blurred vision.. I always got thumbs up wearing it at starting lines when Bob was better known and it was new. Now the foam is gone and hides in closet collecting dust
