I beat him at the Pro / Am in December...obviously he's gotten a little slower. He still looks good. Doesn't ride as much these days.

Radical Ron was pretty fast on a Cagiva, too!! Maybe Pipe has a scan of Ron pullin' a holeshot at Saddleback against Johnny O' on a WMX 125.

Cagiva..Man I had one of those...like my 1972 DKW, the Cagiva, had too many neutrals. Loved the suspension though.

Someone needs to find the MOTOCROSS ACTION magazine from back in 1977 where Ronnie holeshoted the Hangtown 125 National which made the cover, that was a great shot.

I shall ask the senior editor !

I know where you could find a copy...I remember one time I went to your house in Santa Ana, or Tustin....in your bathroom you had about ten thousand moto mags !

There were just to many to move, I am sure they're still there LOL

I may have posted this in years previous, but I was told several years ago that Ron married a pig farmer's daughter and lived in Pea Ridge, Arkansas for a time in the mid-late '90's until a divorce forced him from the trough. I was also told that he showed up at a track in Dora, Oklahoma a time or two during that period and could still haul the mail on a motor scooter. Then disappeared again as quickly as he surfaced. Knowing Ron (although it has been decades), his life has likely been a very interesting journey that would make a great sitcom. Off the track, he was a great guy and I hope it's going well for him.

One more thing. I remember Ron most for the fact that he rode practice just like a moto. He'd knock your a## down, run over you---he only knew one speed.

Another fact about Ron Turner.

He was known as the winningest rider in California.

Ron had a style, few can make work...He sat way back on the seat. How he could ever turn confused me.

I'm sure he'll be at the national...I'll get picture of him

I'm sure I'll see him. I have only spoke with him a couple times, but he always acknowledges my presence.

Anybody else you're feeling misty eyed about ?

My fondest memory of you, is watching as you did 100mph on your RD350, down Newport Blvd. !

That thing was a screamer...

The city moved 17th st, it actually goes right through the property where Award motors used to be.
