Here is an article from Mini Cycle Magazine about Ponca City in 1982. Sorry about the size, I still can't figure out how to get them bigger.

Looks like Paul Denis was more nervous standing by the trophy girl than he was pulling that holeshot that day! LOL!!!
Hope you enjoyed the article.

What happened to Doug Harrington, 2nd in 83 Mod?

He did well for a while then disappeared.
What about Mark Morris in the Pic above with the bikes and Denis?

Mark Melton Came on in 1983 if I remember right. Junior Jackson too.

That's pretty funny. You would had to have been basically dead to mean that. Nma champ was the NMA champ for all the right reasons!

Its all good. Its still hard to believe, that the best weakend i ever had, the biggest race i ever won.. turned out to be the worst tragedy, in NMA history...

I love to see all this old stuff. I remember it like it was yesterday. My brother was up front with them all, actually chasing Hemme when he got his finger and thumb cut off in the big sweeper behind tha start, All of those Ponca Articles are awesome. Thereis a picture of my brother standing up on the podium in that article from 79, I belive he won the 9 to 11 class that year, but 82 is when the finger thang happen. if it had not happen i think he would have done very well. We still see Doug Harrington at Loreatts every year. Doing well and races cars now.
