I've restored tons of Vintage minis and honestly I bought this with plans of building a 100cc mini elsinore. The parts needed to build the mini are almost non existant so I guess a standard restore will do

1977 CR125M That I basicly have about $100 in.
Thankfully I do my own powdercoating. I have alot of work in front of me on this one.

Honestly I consider myself a powdercoating Hobbyist and not a professional. However I've been quite pleased with my results.

Shoot me an e-mail at racerx930 at yahoo dot com and let me know what you have. Maybe I can help.

Anyone have a pipe? I thought DG was making pipes for these things but apparently not.

Thanks for the help. It looks like the stuff to get her going is not going to be that hard to find. Only thing I haven't found is an air box lid.

Air box lid? Or cover for the side of the air box? I think they actually had both although the top lid usually got tossed. I have loads of that stuff, just let me know.

Right side air box cover is what I'm looking for. I'm actually not picking the bike up until next weekend in Burelson at the King of the Ant Hill race. Swapping out a few hard tail minitrail frames for it.

Here is my 1978 Elsi 125. I refrained from the powder coating because no one could match the original Tahitian Red. I called VMX in New Mexico and they have original color Tahitian red in aerosol cans. I painted everthing by hand. Wew! VMX also has the best plastic. The 78 had red shocks, forks, and grips. I could not find the original silencer, as most discarded immediately.

Extremely nice. How does the Rattle Can stuff work on the tank? Does it hold up to gas getting on it?

Thanks man! I took the tank to a auto repair shop and they matched the paint and painted it for me. I think they put three coats on it. Most auto repair shops can match any color. The rear shocks were the hardest part, as I put to many coats on and I could not get the shock retainers back on. I sanded them down and simply used two coats. I also took all the hardware and them re-zinc all the nuts and bolts, kick stand, etc. Be careful when you take the forks and tripple clamps off. It has loose bearings and they will go everywhere. Lay a towel down in case you drop some.
Have fun!

What kind of shocks did these have on them? Both of mine have a "made in mexico sticker.

I got the bike yesterday and the only big disappointment is the tab with the brake cable holder and exhaust mount hole is pretty messed up. Shouldn't be too bad to fix.

As ugly as the bike is it's actually pretty complete.

Those look like different shocks-not stock. The 77 had black springs, not red. 77 shocks should be easy to find on the internet. Then, take em appart and power ocat or pant.
