Modern Suzuki RM with '86/87 style colors

Edited Date/Time 4/26/2013 11:55pm
Seen some cool remakes of old-school bikes like the Service Honda with early gray Elsinore coloring.

Anyone seen a modern Suzuki RM (something 01 up) painted to look like the '86/87 models (with ford blue frame & engine)? I have a 01 and have thought about making a replica out of it.. just not sure it would be worth the effort.

Here's a '87 RM125 (the black fork boots weren't stock.. pretty sure the '87s had yellow boots).

I thought '86 was the first year disc front and back.

I do remember in about 1977 Oleary and Vogal Suzuki in IL would paint your frame and motor blue for about $40 on their teams bikes.

How is the 87/88 RM125. I saw a super clean 125 and thought on it for vmx. I was out of racing for those years and I had to make believe bikes didnt exist. Werent the 86 rear suspenion really bad when they went from the floater?

I really dig that 250 color scheme.A bright blue seat cover could only help. That is so bad ass you installed conventional forks from the 98

I always like the light blue next to the darker blue. I think even some Ford Explorers had it also.

Thanks for the website link and for posting your pics in the first place.

When you powder coated the motor did you have it all back together or have each individual case powder coated separately?

Again, beautiful bike. If/when I get to mine I'll keep the stock forks & rims.. the silver, blue and yellow plastic look so incredibly good.

FTW! F me that's cool. Been wanting to do this to a newer RM but go with the '89-'90 style graphics.
