I was able to score one of these for my 95 CR build. I have seen several different build and finishes on them. Do the majority of folks powder coat these and grind off the lettering? Vapor Blast and leave as is? I know the answers are probably a matter of preference, but was curious what would be recommended for a light MC replica that will be a rider

It is magnesium, so I am going to assume it is the real deal. I bought a whole right side outer cover because this was on it, gambling that it would be worth it!

I would leave it the way it is the coating that is on it is really hard to find a place to redo it. If you paint it or recoat it the value of the cover will decrease drastically. I would get a replica and get it coated with Cherokee. A true work of art you got there I wouldn't destroy it. If you're doing a replica though I see no reason to paint it I mean it will look more "real" if you leave the patina. If you blast it, it will corrode, the coating is anti-corrosive and protects it. The only reason it hasn't deteriorated is due to that coating

If it's original, leave it 100%. You won't be able to replicate it, and if you try and do that somehow it'll just look like a cheap replica.

Look at all the ex team bikes in museums etc. All freshly built but the cases have some wear on like this - no problem in my eyes.

I wouldn't touch that cover it looks legit. If you do anything to it the value will crash instantly.
