10/30/2009 4:31 PM A few pals have mentioned this, so let's give it a try. Since Harry impacted so many and was a good mentor, maybe it would be cool to get the old crew together and tell some old stories. For example, Harry called my house one night and gave my mom directions to Barona oaks. He was a good man and loved kids! Any ideas, where to meet? Maybe a day at Glen Helen, or just a night out somewhere. I could volunteer my place if need be, I'll supply the beer!

10/30/2009 6:11 PM Ok I'll bite, it was around 77 , and harry built me a 105, fresh white tank, white fenders I was so stoked. the paint was still tacky, but me and my dad went to pick it up on the way to corona to give it a try. mark lowberg was puting the the last coule of screws in it when we drove up,man i was geeked. So Harry says start it up, take around back for a spin, (yea) Start it ,Mark jumps on the back and away we putt. Do a couple of laps, when mark says can i give it a try? sure you built it. Mark jumps on and pins it over the rail road tracks straight into a fence, oh &%#@% he,s a mess road rash , eyes bugged out welling with tears saying he was going to get fierd if harry finds out ,So i push the scratced up broken lever having thing back to the shop, and say i did it, got the crap beat otta me, but if you knew me and my dad i was totally used to it. I dont know why i was ask to ride for that team all the kids were so nice and i was a little shit. I heard mark is now a bizillonair now. hey mark you owe me, CHIP

I still have some old "PY" stickers that were used on the ROC bikes.

11/6/2009 9:35 PM Being a member of the HCS team was so much fun.All the kids were friends and the parents got along great. We were your typical tennage kids,we seem to get in trouble were every we went. The hotels, the resturants. We would all race carona raceway every Friday night and after the race on the way home we went to Dennys in Carona to eat. Those were some of the best memories. For us the race was just a part of the experience..Chris Taylor

11/9/2009 4:32 PM Hey Chip Nice? I am starting to think you changed your name? Hope it's not a sex change, just kidding, don't kill me.
I remember the 105, but wish I could have seen the crash. Your dad was classic; was his name buck? Who else could have kept you in line? Do you remember when we cut your cast off at Corona Raceway in the back of your station wagon? I think you had broke your femur. That was a ballsy move pal! I remember looking at Taylor and saying, that guy is crazy!!! |
