The Shop
What the hell do you do with it?
DC , its great there in buisness
they could change to Maiers supply of plastic
Maier used tge dull plastic years ago
DC isn't OEM quality but they make so many you can't get anywhere else and there great to deal with.
DC has molds for damn near every bike out there plus they are willing to do one off items or build you a mold. They also carry lots of other bits and pieces for your vintage bikes. Lots of in stock inventory, quick shipping and top notch service as others have pointed out. Like I said, if only they had shiny plastic.
Ride the damn things, another 5-10 years it will all be worthless
The market has tanked for the bikes, once your dead, the bikes
will be taken out to the trash, for a second time
Pit Row
DC is good people filling a small void in this big world from a mom and pop shop in the middle of nowhere Michigan. The molds are crafted by hand in the back room by the owner himself. I also know they take great pride in servicing customers the best they can. Sucks when I see guys talk smack, if they only knew.
Also I know for a fact DC sponsors at least two different vintage mx series, can't beat that. Support those who support you.
Love DC plastic and all their inventory, talked to Vintage Suzuki this week and this whole vintage market is down and wonder what its going to be like in 25 years as we have dwindling participation in the sport and guys like me that have a connection with old moto bikes are not getting any younger!
Yeah the vintage dirt bike market : I look at it this way, it's a nice hobby and somewhat affordable compared to other motorized sports out there. As much as I like mountain biking and cross country skiing and all that motocross requires a combination of fitness and has the machinery aspect I so love. The bikes are small you can store many quite cheaply waiting to be finished unlike cars or trucks that costs hundreds if not thousands to do same.
I was looking at getting into the snowcat hobby a few years ago as I have a weak spot for the old orange Tucker cats and costs are multiples what old dirt bikes are. Most of us aren't in it to make money save for the odd flipping of sought after models but then I look at my brother the stamp collector and he does profit when he hits the sell button. I guess when I can't ride anymore I'll flip stocks or stack coins.
I've bought 2 front number plates from them and they have an excellent finish.
