Hey guys ive looked around on this site some and talked about old bikes I dont see exactly where to post this or if I can ? I do cylinder boring and resleeving and thought this would be a good site to place it a mod or ? Please let me know if this is ok to post if not let me know as well but anyway ,,,
I like the older bikes and remember back in the 80's used to bore cr's yz's rm's kx's all the time I got out of it and now have repurchased another boring bar I can bore or resleeve 2 strokes and 4 strokes , thanks

Im fairly close to you. How much to do a cleanup bore on a sleeved 2000 kx 250, and do i have to send a piston with it?

Im trying to get going online here so $40 , and yes have to send the piston I will bore it to spec amd hone it all you will have to do is clean it up and put it back together

Well most of the time one day turn around on say a normal rebore like a 0.20 or 0.40 over , then more for big jobs like sleeving and big bore kits say ? Maybe 3 days ? Im talking weekdays ,

Nope I have all the equipment to bore and hone I do not grind on ports

Well fresh off the machine id say none I like to hone the last 0.02 thousands to make the bores smooth I will check the next one I do with my dial bore gauge and see ,
This boring bar was designed just for motorcycle cylinders and the way the cylinders mount on parallel bars on the deck and the way the bar cuts down into the cylinder I cant see any way it could be anything but straight , on honing you could possibly get a difference from top to bottom but after boring all these years and hundreds of cylinders and blocks I have never had a problem ,

I will check one fresh off the machine and then after its honed

So you only do boring? No replating? how much to do a small bore on a std bore 91 kdx250?

91 kdx 250 cylinder is plated can not be bored unless sleeved.

Ok...so now here's My issue. It's got a small chunk or big scrap. I wouldn't know what size piston to buy...any ideas?

You have 3 choices

#1 buy a new cylinder
#2 have yours replated (if it can be)
#3 have it resleeved and put a std size piston back , I can resleeve it for $150

$150 is the labor you will have to buy a sleeve and std piston and send to me ,,,

I am going to have a few XR75/80/100 Honda cylinders I need done soon. Shoot me your info and I will give it a shot.

If you have some customers needing some obscure, old CR125/250 and XR75 pistons and rings for cylinders they need bored out, I have an assortment I acquired over the years.

#1 cylinder boring
#2 cylinder sleeving
#3 crankshaft rebuilding
