Yes & Also remember some joker trying to put me into it one night!

It didn't work to well for him & his CZ as I just leaned on him & took him out in the corner.

Yeah, forgot about him. How about Dave Pessy (sp?) rode on Ossa's, everyone called him Pussy, fast rider but just another hot head who cried foul all the time when he lost.

I'm 50 of course I remember the ponds!
The night of my very first win in the 100 class Bill Bixby and the cast of "Courtship of Eddie's father" where handing out the trophies. Now I'm sure I'll be hard-pressed to find anyone who was there THAT night. (About 73' I think) I remember Bixby had to leave early because his wife was sick in the hospital at the time. (I think she died).

I remember being about 12 and watching Dave Pessy ride that little practice course behind "HOCKY Cycles" on Figueroa, south of Carson St. (Near Harbor General Hospital) Now called "Harbor UCLA Medical Center".

Hey, in the March issue of "MOTORCYCLIST", (The kid's school had a magazine subscription fundraiser, I had to order something) There's a cool artical on the "First Superbowl of Motoross" at the LA Colisuem. (Yes, being a local I went. Still have the souvenir "Hot hat" around here somewhere. Remember it had the course map printed on top?) Anyway, there's a story about Tripes where he tells how "Joel Robert" taught him how to ride down the "BIG HILL" at Saddleback.. So we weren't the only ones a little intiminated. I guess we were in pretty good company. I just point the bike down the hill and try to "Float" to a smooth two-wheeled landing. (Like the little drop off on the backside of the REM track at Glen Helen)

Hey,
Who knows how to contact J.N. Roberts? My family and I know some old friends/neighbors of his from "Springville, CA." that would like to check in with him.
(Harold and Marlis)
Thanks!

I just sold a bike to Bill yesterday, he's racing desert stuff these days, I'll tell him you said hey Chris.

I raced a few wed night summers out there, preferred outdoor tracks like Saddleback, Indian Dunes, Carlsbad, etc, but when the occasional mid-week boredom set in Ascot was cool.

Gosh! K, don't dis my beloved ASCOT! OKOK, I know many people called it "TRASHSCOT", and Chris Ag did steal one of my hottest girlfriends, but
it was close to home and I always did well there!

Chris...I am trying to land you the 2007 CRF450, that I won the 2008 California State Motocross Championship, on.

It has a great engine, slightly modified, but bullet proof, Dick's racing, just did the suspension prior to my win.

It could use some plastic, but other than that, I wish I owned it instead of just racing it once in awhile.

(Parked not far behind the concession stand in the pits?)
I know Radical Ron Turner and John Desoto remember. Ron was jumping on the stationwagon at the time. Along with about 50 other people. John was there too. I believe it happened between races. The announcer said "There seems to be some kind of commotion in the pits". No one was watching the races, everyone was watching Vitali's stationwagon. I think she actually came with some friends and neighbors of Westergaard's. (250 pro) Not sure. IF YOU WERE THERE, THEN YOU REMEMBER.

OKOK, it was me. She attacked me, I was helpless. She forced herself on me what could I do? Wish I could remember her name, but she lived off Crenshaw just up the hill from PCH near Alta Loma Park?

If anyone remembers this or has info regarding this shameless spectacle, please let me know. ChrisMackay

Bauer rarely ventured out that far west, especially on a Wednesday night

..Yeah yeah, Bierman was already bustin my cahonies about that on the previous page.
He posted a photo of how the girl looks today. Hey, just ask Ron Turner or John DeSoto. They were there and they remember! I only wish I was remembered for my racing instead of being attacked by a drunk, (But very hot) chick from South Torrance.

Lenny, did you ever sneak into the place from the river channel?

We always did and I remember a few times some "brothers" would jump the fence with us and we would all run like hell into the pits.

I just rid them under blankets in the back of the van. (Hey, I could barely afford the entry fees back then) Sorry Stu, I'll pay you back with interest when I see you. (I don't think the kids missed any meals because of it) ;-)

Hello Chris,

That's it...keep the memories coming from CMC Motocross at Ascot . My blue Dodge van and D50 pick-up carried my track photography display there for years. I sure miss those incredible races between ''Radical" Ron Turner and Todd Peterson. Haven't seen Ron in a long time but visited Todd yesterday at his Swolen store in Anaheim. Tim Lunde always comes to mind when I think of Ascot and so does my Whittier neighbor Jeff Conlin. I was there for the finale in 1990. Right now I'm going through the negative envelopes and writing down bike numbers.

Okay..here's my question...did I take that one-handed shot of you on the #36 maico and or the suzuki picture in your profile section?

Hi Tom!
Great to hear from you. I left you a message on your work phone a while back!
You took both of those photos!

Remember the story you did on me in Cycle News? -- Cycle News Volume XIX ; Number 15 ; April 28, 1982 ---
Thanks! It meant a lot.

You guys also forgot to mention Mark Tyer when talking about the Mettco Penton team. There was another guy named Bill Henderson who was really fast that rode for them.
