11/4/2009 5:43 AM Let's get a thread started honouring all the young Americans who came over to chase Grand Prix glory in the 70's, 80's 90's. Guys like Brad Lackey, Jim Pomeroy, Danny Laporte, Donny Schmidt, Trampas Parker, Billy Liles, Bobby Moore, Danny Magoo Chandler, Jim Gibson etc.

Do you remember looking at that picture back in the day and being blown away by a "cross up"? I thought it couldn't get any cooler than that. Geez, have times changed.

Do you remember looking at that picture back in the day and being blown away by a "cross up"? I thought it couldn't get any cooler than that. Geez, have times changed. It did not and will not ever get any coller than that. Early 70's moto was ..........., well you just had to be there.

11/5/2009 11:52 AM Marty Moates, I remember he came to the British GP in '77 on the KSI. They used to have 2 x's 45 mins free practice on Saturdays to dial the bikes in. Marty did both sessions full bore for the full 45 mins , we couldn't believe it !! |

Chuck Sun did the '78 250 World's on a Husky. I have an old pic of him on it in a '79 MXA as clear as day in my minds eye but the mag is back at my folks in England :-( |
