9/24/2009 12:59 PM And with all the other groups popping up and doing fairly successful, what will the effect of that be. You know the other groups that cater to the fact that their may be a member of the family under the age of 16 that would like to get some laps in as well. Is Jeff Smith still in charge of the money? Guess that wouldn't be an issue to me if I hadn't contributed so much money to the benevolent fund since the early 90's(the fund to help injured riders at AHRMA events)that his sorry ass raided to help prolong his frivolous lawsuit that not only bankrupted AHRMA but also drug the AMA into it to the tune of 3/4 million plus.

9/24/2009 3:45 PM Newmann, any guy that contributes to a fund like that only to see it used for other issues has every right to be pissed. I know I would be. My hats off to you. As far as Smith goes, I have no idea what his status is. As far as the age limit thing, I dunno if I agree with that or not. I know I don't believe in throwing a 10 year old on an 85 and launching him 45 feet thru the air. Legally, most states say you can't drive before you're 16. It's their show, their call. As far as the AMA thing, there's a ton of people foaming at the mouth because they sold most everything to a guy that got them for a few million a while back. What's changed? Latest rumor with them is Honda and the rest of the big 4 are kicking around running an American series on their own. That's how pissed they are. Hey, I'm just the messenger here. When Dingman brings his show to my backyard, that'll be up here too. Who cares how the hell the do it in Europe. |

9/24/2009 4:47 PM Until you get Jeff Smith, Dick Mann and the rest of the "permanent " trustee's out of AHRMA, the poor members are going to keep taking it up the poop chute with no grease. Smith spent over $800,000 of the organizations money trying to win a personal vendetta lawsuit. It's not his money, he could give two shits. It's everyone of the paying members and contributors to the benevolent fund that took the beating. I have not renewed my membership since '95, and do not plan to. FLVMX suits me just fine. Read some of this link.

9/25/2009 5:06 AM It' is beyond me why in the wprld why Smith, Mann et all do not resign. I've been into the Evo bikes since '95 and the "Old Guard" has made their views on PV known not only in words but actions. I'm struggling if I want to renew my membership as I love vintage/evo racing and want to support a National organization for the good of the sport but AHRMA is in sore need of a management flush. To me if you loved the sport and you know that your actions right or wrong are killing it why not resign for the good of the sport and the members unless of course you're a damn ego freak. It's WAY past time for the current group to pass the reigns on.
