If you can't find something from that period I would just use stock pegs. I have a MX Action mag from 3/94 with a foot peg article. There were basically PC pegs (look totally different), Predator pegs, a version of pivot pegs and the weld-on extensions. I definitely wouldn't use ane of the blingy anno'd POS out today.

Weld-on would be legit IMO.

Had a house full of visitors this weekend, so managed a grand total of 2 hours garage time.

Anyway I managed to get a little bit done.

Looking very good! Any progress with the graphics?

How is the quality of the ceet foam? I'm thinking of buying one with hard stiffness for my 90 125.

Thanks!
The graphics are being made up by EVO MX in the UK, I sent them some stock graphics and lots of pictures of Bradshaws bike along with pictures of Down South's bike for colour reference. They think they can get a fair representation from these and will send through a proof sometime this week.
I haven't even unpacked the CEET seat foam yet so don't know how it compares but it looks to be good quality, I got a standard foam.

I had a box stock 91 YZ250. You guys make me wish I still had it. This is the only picture I could find, and it is circa 1992.

The motor looks great! I would ask who your guy was but he'd be 1/2 way round the world. Was it blasted then painted?

Thanks!
I had the cases, barrel, and head soda blasted then painted by a guy who does custom bike work, unfortunately the paint started to chip away on reassembly so I ended up repainting it with VHT (high temp) engine paint myself and it came out nice. The barrel is not painted just raw cast aluminum.

Talking about Bradshaw... I can't imagine how that guy (or anyone for that matter) could have rode a YZ490 at a national pace. This bike ruins me every time I ride one moto. Amazing athlete for sure! He was amazing to watch on the 250.

I love the work you have done so far! It looks killer!
Probably be difficult to take it out and ride it once you have finished it?
As far as footpegs, what did you decide on? I struggled With that on my builds as well.
Ended up with some cheap wide steel ones...

Thanks Ove, it definitely will be difficult getting it dirty for the first time........... but I will ride it!
I just ordered some stock footpegs, I couldn't find anything aftermarket that looked right.

Got a bit more done over the weekend, still waiting for the hubs to come back then I'll be able to have the wheels laced up.
There's loads more to do, but it is starting to look more like a bike now rather than a pile of parts.

That's it for a while, I'm away in San Fran next week, so won't get to work on it again for another couple of weeks

Here's some pics of progress to date

I managed to get back into the garage this weekend and got a bit further along.
A lot of work has gone into doing the finicky little things that take time and frustrate the hell out of you.
First of all I went to get the wheels built up and realised I'd been sent an 18" rear rim instead of a 19", also the spokes were for the wrong year as well, so I had to get the supplier to resend the correct ones, this is why I only have the front wheel built up and on the bike so far.
Secondly, the pro circuit pipe needed to be modified at the end to fit the DEP silencer properly, I had to add an extension of about 1" to the end so it would slide far enough into the silencer, and then weld on a collar to allow the two units to side together and overlap.
Thirdly, the steel plates on the inside of the swingarm that the rear axle bolt slides through needed to be modified to accept 5mm retaining screws, the standard 4mm threads in the swingarm had been stripped so I had to drill them out and cut new 5mm threads.
Lastly, I spend about 2 hours adjusting the radiators and exhaust so they wouldn't touch, sounds simple but was a complete pain in the ass.
The last thing that needs to be rebuilt is the carb, I'm thinking of just getting a rebuild kit from Sudco and then starting off with standard jetting, if any of you guys have some experience jetting this model bike, I'd be keen to hear your thoughts on the best settings.
I have everything I need to finish the build with the exception of a new front brake hose. I would prefer a NOS stock hose but I can't find one for love nor money, so the only option I have is to use the original shabby looking one I removed or buy an aftermarket one. I'm not familiar with aftermarket brake hoses and not sure about their fitment and quality etc, so any advice you guys may have on this subject would be very much appreciated.

Some pictures of progress

I stripped the paint off the stock magnesium clutch cover

I ended up going with new stock footpegs

Here's the mod I made to the pipe to fit the silencer properly

That would be great, I'm keen to get along to that.
when you say carry over, do you mean that because it is the same bike between 90-92 its accepted in the pre 91 class?
