Got this dropped off in my lap for $450, I didn't really want to start another project right now but I couldn't look this Gift Horse in the mouth. I have a problem sticking to original so my bikes always morph into other years, this 83 will look a lot more like a 84

The tank is only half way to being restored, it is at the 400 grit stage, I will take it a little further then be handed to James Sharp for final polishing like my 125

My friend that found the bike and then handed it over to me to restore said he did get it started and it ran for a few minutes but when I tore the motor down one of the piston circlips had already came out and scored the first over bore. I have a brand new NOS 2nd over in it now with all new bearings except the rod which felt fine to me. All other bearings and seals in the motor are new along with all the suspension bearings which adds up on these Full Floaters pretty quick. Both rims and Swingarm just got sent to Indianapolis for gold anodizing. A coworker and I saved the stock pipe with A LOT of TIG welding and even disected, shortened and repacked the stock Bazooka silencer. I can't wait to ride this thing. I plan to actually abuse this one, I have way to many bikes just sitting around looking pretty already.

My bad, yes, 465. Yzweldon: I have changed my restore philosophy in the last few builds, I still completely strip them down & reinforce frame welds & do all mechanical items needed, but don't worry so much about cosmetics, so I can hammer them when done.

My back and knees are so bad that I can't really give any of my babies the Flogging they deserve so I just make them as pretty as possible seeing they won't get that much abuse. I keep saying that someday I will sell a few of them and move on to other things but I just can't pick one to shun from the stable/ house. I'm going to have to start hanging them next, I'm out of room in the house.

I might need to lease some living room space from you or Russ. I bet David has some Free Space over in Colleyville

I shortened the original silencer after rebuilding it. The thing was a 16" long Bazooka to begin with

Looking good! If you plan on riding it, you may want to get the safety seat foam & cover, I got mine from Vintage Suzuki & very pleased with cover & foam.

I do plan on riding it but don't really like the safety seats I've seen, a couple that I've seen look more like extra dickskin after a hard night lots of booze and a bad hooker
