10/28/2009 7:23 PM I did. I was told they don't keep records for more than "roughly 5 years or so...". This came from Mr. Henricksen himself. Thanks for the suggestion though!

I forgot who won the overall because of the tragedy. I remember a picture of Rick Hemme, Larry Brooks and Bruce Bunch with the cast on, stating how close they finished that year. I was there in 83.

Can't remember the rest of the 1-10 order, I'm remembering Storebeck in 2nd or 3rd. I remeber that Minicycle Magazine that had all the coverage of it that year, I was 9 when that issue came out and I read the words off it, a bit too long ago for my 36 year old brain to recall.
I think that I shall never see

I do remember Paul's Pro-Trac trailer with some writing on it about being him being NMA #1 either Western Region and or Grand National #1. He usually ran #1 or #4. The Storebeck would have been Dale not Danny right?

11/7/2009 7:23 AM I'm interested in these results as well. I got two 5ths that year. One in the pee wee class and one in the 60cc 6-8 class. I think I only rode the stock classes that year, but I'm not 100% sure. If you could post the results that would be awesome.
Does anyone remember who the photographer was at Ponca? I'd love to get my hands on some of those old photos. |

After reading a few of your posts, I'd be surprised if we don't know each other. Did you grow up racing in Oklahoma? |

11/7/2009 7:02 PM Eddy, I have known you since I was a kid...........which was your favorite? The day track or the night track? Wasn't Greg Petree a real dickhead???? My Daddy sure thought so.

I'd have to say the night track ... I always enjoyed racing at night. I think our dads seen eye to eye on Greg Petree. My dad didn't like him either.
I sure hope MX101 comes up with these results ... Ponca 82 was a special race for me. I barely qualified for the national and then finished 5th in two classes. For some reason, this is where it all clicked for me. I went from finishing mid pack at the local races to winning on a regular basis. Did you attend the NMA Fall Nationals at Lake Whitney in 1983? I would like to have results from that race too. |

11/8/2009 5:44 AM I wasn't at the fall race in 83, I was still recovering from my injuries from Loretta's that year. Damon Bradshaw and I tangled there, and both lost. Hank Moree came out smelling like a rose...............
