Hi guys, I have seen so many inspirational builds here on vital MX, I thought its time to do my own. I live in Abu Dhabi in the UAE so old 2-Strokes are not the easiest to get a hold of. I have an 08 KX125 that I just picked up as a base for a 2003 Mike Brown Pro-Circuit Replica. Would have loved an 03 but I thought I can't miss the opportunity. I was busy with a 99 Splitfire PC replica in South Africa but had to down tools there for the new job.

Ordered my Pro-Circuit Works pipe and matching shorty silencer as well as some Renthal Twinwalls. Black Excel rims will be on the next order. Got to save some $ first. Here is a plastics kit I picked up in the UK. Was advertised as UFo but later turned out to be Acerbis.

Unable to locate a graphics kit so I was forced to design my own.

Looks like a great project and lots of fun. That original pipe looks ready for the bin anyway. Looking forward to seeing the results

Good luck with the replica build!! I love those 2003 Pro Circuit bikes! Be nice if you could find some of those exact carbon fiber clutch & ignition covers. I bought the last set in the UK a few years ago. Both covers only cost £100.
Still have an old magazine article which tests Browns 03 PC bike and the engines then were making just shy of 40bhp. Would have been a nice bike to test ride!

Looks like a great start to the project. I had no idea they still made the KX125 in 2008.

Kawie froze the design in the mid 00s, stopped importing the 125 to the US, but continued to sell the bike in other markets for a couple more years-- the Japanese mfgs (except for Honda) did this also.

Yeah that's true, I think they just put some of the KXF parts like the 2005 fork guards and 2007 magnesium looking clamps and hubs. As far as I know, Beneath that it's an 03. Thanks for the tips so far too. Would love to get some carbon clutch and ignition covers too. Looking into those eBay options mentioned as well.

I would imagine EvoMX in the UK would also be able to make up some PC graphics. They've done a fair few Splitfire graphics for 00's shape and also the newer 03+ shape, so they are used to dealing with older team graphics.

Thanks, that template above is from another UK company called Danger. They did my 99 Splitfire graphics and I was really happy with the quality and service.

Are you going to keep the stock hubs? Be nice if you could turn them on the lathe to remove the casting marks and then have them re-done in that lovely mag brown colour. Unless you were going to get some mag brown Talon hubs or similar?

The 99 KX was destined to be a Nathan Ramsey Replica. Here are pics of the printed graphics.

Sorry for the poor pics, taken with my not so smart, smart phone.

Would definitely like to go with the Excel rim/Talon hub set up but will just see how it goes.

Funny, when I was younger I wasn't a big fan of that style/design/colour way of Splitfire Kawasaki. Now I'm older, I think they look awesome! 03 is better still, I reckon.

You'll have to keep us updated. I for one would like to see how you get on with the build.
I've got all the stuff inc trick stuff (apart from black rims) to make an 03 replica, but ended up buying all white plastics for my 06 125. If i ever decide to ride mx again, I'll put the bike back to stock graphics (my joint fave) or turn it into a 2003 Bubba replica, which I also have the graphics for (other joint fave graphics wise).

I'd like a set of those 03 graphics.

Cool build.

Going to have to give the supplier a ring about the bar pad colour. Was just meant to be standard Black.

Nice!! Where was the works pipe from? BTW, all Renthal bars now come with that barpad colour as opposed to straight black. Youll need the older style black renthal pad anyway not the new shape logo one. Keep an eye out on ebay

Hi there, the pipe and silencer was from BTO sports. They had a bit of a sale so paid $300 for both. The Renthals were also from there and as they were advertised with the black barpad they refunded me the cost of a new bar pad. Will definitely be on the lookout for the old school pad like you mentioned.

Decided to take the bike out for a spin, see what needs changing before I tear it down. Put the PC on as well and the bike Revs to the moon. Lots of fun to ride

They did a black gripper cover for me as well, again until I can find an original, if one still exists.
