- Picked up a rare find today, however, I am still perplexed as how it made it's way into Canada.
- 1998 Honda of Troy Mike Brown #100 Cr 125.
- I am still not 100% certain on the history of this bike and the authenticity, however, the more I uncover the more I am lead to believe this was Mike Brown's #100 Honda of Troy race bike.
- I plan to connect with some people this week to see if I can definitively say it was Mike Brown's bike '98 race bike.
- It was covered in dust/dirt and had been sitting for a long time, so all I've done this afternoon was give it a quick pressure wash. After all, we did get 8" of snow today, so I could not get into a detailed wash.
- Here are some picture(s).

The Shop
Joking aside that looks legit. How did you come to find it? Mike Brown has always been one of my favorite racers. I'll bet freshened up that is a seriously fast bike
The alloy ignition cover is made by TMV in the Netherlands.
Do you know what type/brand oversize front rotor kit is mounted on the bike?
Braking 260. You can still find the brackets on eBay but the rotors are a bit more difficult. CrGuy2t has one on the front of his 02 Team Plano build.
Another great find, Ranger! Where do you come up with all this cool stuff? Will you take any of your bikes out to the track? It would be cool to see a video .. You've got a small shop of race bikes in there!
Was it stored in a damp place, outside?
I would disassemble engine, rebuild crank,bearings after being exposed to that much moisture
everything is pitted?
Pit Row
As I was saying in my initial post, why the heck was this bike in Canada? More specifically the little town I found it in doesn't make much sense either.
Not sure if I'll ever make it out on the track with these but you never know though. That being said, this summer coming up will be the first summer I am not away for training, so a better chance.
It was stored inside for the last 6 years, however, prior to that I am not sure.
Yeah, once I get some time I'll take a closer look at everything.
The pitting is very minor from what I can see.
- I had an hour this evening to further dissect the bike and I found some more interesting stuff;
- "MB-3" is etched all over the bike - (e.g. engine case, suspension, swing-arm, ignition, coil, etc. etc.);
- Hinson clutch;
- Safety wire all over the bike.
- I've attached some new pictures below
So, spill it. How did you confirm it was MB's bike? The mech or someone else? Inquiring minds want to know....
- The previous owner had coated the pipe in black hi heat spray paint.
