The Shop
I didn't see if you'd done some parts trading with DJ like on the 96 but I know he mentions how great this project is shaping up when I talk to him. I sold my '95 earlier this year; I'm getting a bit older and that bike went to a much better home.
So I guess now comes the "squawk -- I'm a parrot!" part -- but more project pictures are always eagerly anticipated and most welcome.
Seems like everything is going really well for this project and you also! All great to hear amigo!
I actually got the bike finished
Gutted.
The bike sat for 6 months before I even pulled it apart. But the other day I finally removed the motor and split the cases again.
Found the problem. Obviously I wasn't careful enough when putting the cases back together and bumped the gasket out of alignment.
So that's where I'm at currently. I've sent the case away for repair and hopefully it comes back in a useable state...
I call dibs on the pipe when the case comes back as unbuildable.
I have a spare PC works pipe tucked away for safe keeping also
It's hard to believe you took that scud in the first picture to this. Well done!
Not sure if you could make this work after sandblasting? Looks like the same side you need..
EDIT: Nevermind
This is the finished product. Not too bad considering. He left the inside like this for added strength. I may hydro blast the outside again to even it up a bit.
Pit Row
And discovered that the repair job has warped due to the heat. Back to square 1...
