Time to start a thread on this next build. I've always loved how unique the early PC bikes were built. And it seems most the parts are acquirable with some time and patience.

When I was about 16 years old, I had a 1992 kx125 with the '93 graphics and seat cover. I loved that bike but it was short lived since it was stolen out of my garage shortly after I bought it.

With my "mid-90s crisis" in full affect, I've been on a mission to build the bikes I've always wanted but couldn't afford.

Over the last couple-three years, I've collected most parts for this build. Please enjoy some random photos of my progress and some parts I've gathered. As of now, the bottom end is rebuilt and the frame and swingarm have been powder coated...

I don't actually read it because I have no idea what it says. I only bought it for the pictures. Lol.

Tried to sand out some orange peel finish. It's a hastle since I made a couple tiny bare spots over weld slag. Angry I ended up polishing the paint and moving on.

Nice build! If you know the basics on mixing colors, you might be able to get a match with some Testors paints to touch up the bare spots.

Thanks guys! Yeah, I'm pretty excited about this bike!

Jay, I do have some green paint leftover from my '96 kx250 build. I will dab a bit on the bare spots and see how it works. I think the color will be pretty much identical.

Took 2 days off work to get some work done on the bike. Got the electrical hooked up, triple clamps and bars on, radiators, tank, kick starter and shifter on, swingarm and linkage greased and bolted up. Several hiccups along the way of course, but overall I feel pretty accomplished.

Hi Helder. Yes, pretty much impossible to find the blue plastics. I lucked out on Ebay by setting up an alert on the app. Anytime "kx125 blue UFO" comes up, I get notified.

Lol yes I have "Peak CR125", "pro circuit works pipe used"... and so on. haha.

I am thinking I might ride this bike with stock plastics, if anything. I'm considering getting the cylinder ported by PC and running race gas. I would be very interested to rip it a bit!

Did your '94 PC bike show much wear after the Farleigh Castle race?

It's like new, aside from a few small stone chips on the lower frame areas which don't bother me Smile

Rebuilt the forks with the '94 lowers to accept the wrap-around fork guards. Installed NOS heavier weight springs while I was at it. (.40kg vs. stock .35kg)
I had a couple options...

I'm currently restoring a 1992 kx 125 myself. Having a ball doing it. One question how the hell did you get the engine so clean?

I second this. I was going to ask the same thing.

Bead blaster from Harbor Frieght! Best 200 bucks I've ever spent! Works great on all the cast aluminum parts... cases, fork lugs, calipers, master cylinders, suspension linkage, etc. I use hi-temp clear to seal it in various sheens for the desired look and it helps keep it clean.
