I am building a 1995 CR125 but it will be a completely modernized ripper with WP CV forks and A shock, modern brakes, front end, clamps, steering dampener, light weight everything.

And I wanna actually race it! So I cannot go into the detail you did because it will only get dirty again haha.

Awesome awesome awesome bike!
Thanks for the comments bud! Your build sounds pretty cool and should probably handle well with that sussy!

I also did a 94 Pro circuit KX125 to the same level of detail that i raced once last year, and i'm about to start on my next one that will be the same as this too Smile Keeps me busy!

You're welcome and thank you!

I think the modern A kit on that light weight and powerful motor (gonna go ported race fuel only 144CC Mid-up power band) could really be a hot setup!

185? 188? pounds with close to 40HP? Can it be done?? 20 years old and kicking ass against these UNBEATABLE UNPRECEDENTED 4 strokes? lol Anyways awesome build and I may have some ???'s for you as I go along with mine. haha

Cheers!

Yes sir just normal renthal sprocket, but it's not one of the ones you buy off the shelf now. They have the renthal logo recessed into the sprocket and have new markings, so they'd be no good for this. Based on the packaging this came in, i'd say it was around 10-15 years old NOS item, that i added the old decals to.

By the way, i'm actually building another 92 Peak CR125 at the minute. I won't be doing another build thread as it's going to be basically the same spec/quality as this one, but it'll be one i can race next year in the UK Super Evo Championship and Farleigh VMXdN. Based on that i'll be running a few non PC correct items to improve performance like this nearly new 91 Mugen Kit i've just got my hands on, but i'll try and keep it as accurate as possible.

Sorry i replied to this yesterday but the post doesnt seem to be showing?

This bike won't be ridden. I cant bring myself to take it out the workshop, too many new, rare parts that would be a shame to ruin.

Hence the reason i'm building a 2nd 92 peak bike to race. Itll be built the same but with the odd part swapped for performance purposes like Works connection clutch perch setup, mugen kit etc, and more original restored parts as opposed to NOS parts like the tank and airbox etc.

And imported another set of 92 CR125 forks from America, and picked up a 92 CR250 shock and took them all to Nick at Pro Racing Suspension to work his magic as usual! (Also highly recommend!)

Finished! I didnt keep track but there's days and days of work gone into this, but chuffed with the outcome

All brand new parts for the Swingarm. Again, big thanks to Jason and the lads at Motocross World for sorting it all out! (Swingarm steel inserts and screws arent available to buy alone so just blasted and had them zinc plated)

Swingarm dialled. Brake parts vapour blasted, internals zinc plated, NOS banjo bolts and an almost brand new brake hose from Dirk Timmer in the Netherlands.

Hey mate, what did you use to clean the swingarm up ? a cleaner and a lot of scrubbing ?

Haha! Would've been nice to have MC ride it but that won't be happening any time soon with his Kawi contract Sad

Its a combination of glass bead blasting, filing, sanding with different grits and different scotchbrites.

Finding good used radiators in the UK is impossible, and pretty hard to find even worldwide. Was lucky to finally find a set like new in the USA.

I've been against the clock on this one so not every bolt is titanium, yet, but it's getting there.

The finished motor... Took on board nino's help as he's tried and tested many setups with Mugen CR125s. Was a lot of work and effort to turn this thing around in a matter of weeks, but bike is basically finished now, AHEAD of my end of feb deadline i set last year!

- Vapour blasted and powdercoating done by MHF Restorations (always an incredible job as usual!)
- All new OEM Honda bearings/seals/gaskets
- Vertex 22190B Race piston modified to match Mugen pistons
- Modified Governor to retard powervalve opening
- 98/99 Powervalves
- Keihin PJ 38mm carb with new Choke, Slide, and all jets
- New modified Vforce3
- New clutch kit with Billet Wiseco basket
- Full Titanium bolt set
- Custom billet Pro Circuit Igniton cover
- New OEM Rad hoses and clips
- Endless OEM internals

Hadn't planned to go this over the top with it being a bike to ride, but it's nice to know everything is 100% fresh like a new bike now...

Hopefully have finished bike photos tomorrow, and i'll make sure to get up a video of it running too.

A customer of mine has an actual peak bike (according to him - which I trust forgive the seat he has the correct one in a box), of which we have gone through and completely freshened and restored. It needed a cylinder so he found a new one and somehow got mitch to do it and the head along with a piston they used at the time, it took over a year to get back.

The pipe is a new pc of which I am sure isn't correct to the actual race bikes. After a little tuning on the dyno I think it ended up around 34.5 ish hp off the top of my head. His 2003 all stock motor with some reeds, pipe and silencer (pc pipe and silencer was light years stronger than both sst and fatty on this bike for whatever reason) makes more hp but less area ubder the curve than the peak bike. The peak bike was similar to a new stock yz125 with some advantages in a few areas making it a very usable power, in a racer x article mitch said their hondas were 35 ish hp and the switch to kawi was a hurt to them..so all in all the owner was very pleased after reading that article. Of course before the dyno time he was certain it would be 40 Wink

he has a couple mugens of various years and some incredible elsinores and early 80s model bikes

Your build is beautiful
