This bike was stripped down to the frame and was powder coated to include the subframe and pegs. It has upside down forks (super rare for the day), a Dynaport pipe that is supposed to be 1 of only 2 made back then, new radiator, seat, plastics, Renthal bars and grips, gold chain, new rear shock, new tires, etc. The bike runs awesome, sounds better than the 1984 Honda CR80 that I had last year and that bike had a PC pipe with a DG silencer and had the engine just rebuilt. I had this bike built to be a "mod" bike in comparison to a 100% stock bike...I have a video of it running if you would like to hear it, just send me a response. I would like to see it go to a good home. $2100

Soo cool! Very trick compared to the competition these years. But I guess the quality were not comparable to the Japanese bikes

Only saw one in person, at Ponca in 86. Maybe it was just me, but it seemed a tad smaller in physical size competed to the 86 KX 80's I was on at the time. It looked cool though! Nice build!

Beautiful bike - thanks for posting. I was always fascinated by KTM 80's as a kid. Such unique and cool bikes.

I thought they were really cool too. They were a bit smaller, similar to the yz 80 in the late 80s/early 90s compared to the KX or CR. It was last in the shootout in 86 In MXA and dirt bike tested it in 90 but it hadn't changed any. I only saw 2 in person. A local dealers kid raced one in 86/87 and then it was around a few years later with some 80 beginner kid. Scot Hardens kid Brent raced one I saw at the World Mini in Vegas around 94...it was the same old 86 style Ktm 80 with some bigger upside down forks and mods. I'd like to find some pictures of it. I don't think many were imported but I've always wanted to find one.

I thought I'd share this build I did back in 06. I was working for UFO and they did a small batch of white plastic for the KTM 85. I built a retro 87 out of a 05 that we displayed at the Indy Trade Show. It turned out pretty cool and the Pentons and a lot of old KTM guys came over to check it out. Those are original 87 125 shroud decals that KTM still had in stock.

That is bad ace right there!! One of the coolest throw back replica builds I've ever seen. Thanks for sharing
