9/30/2009 5:43 AM Yeah thanks Lee for hooking me up with the collars. I had found my originals but they turned out to be shot and wouldn't sit evenly. You've come thru once again !

9/30/2009 3:16 PM Hey Cam! I have been meaning to tell you, the 82 RM250 I built had a seat that went halfway up the gas tank. It looked completely original. Scott (who I sold it to) realized it was not stock when he tried to get an original seat cover for it, but I think he did end up finding someone who made an OEM looking seat cover for it. Maybe that same guy sells the foam and base if needed. That might be a nice upgrade for yours. He will be at Sherman on Sunday so we might have to talk to him about it. See you then!

9/30/2009 8:11 PM Sounds like a Ceet Safety Seat which was a very common conversion. They offered two versions. One contained a piece of foam to extend your existing seat and a new cover. The other comtained a complete (one piece) replacement foam with a new cover.

10/1/2009 6:17 AM Anyone know where to get the white spacer that goes on the gear shifter on the '82 rm250? It doesn't show up as an OEM part on the microfiche.
BTW, vintage-suzuki.com has all the seat replacement parts you'd need, both regular and safety size. |

Are you talking about the white plastic collars that protect the shift shaft? If so, they are on the transmission page of the microfiche, part number 09180-12068. They run $3 and you'll need two of them.

I've seen some sell on ebay for next to nothing. I'm so tall that hitting my boys on the tank is actually hard to do. lol

10/5/2009 10:33 PM I picked up an action pic from the race at Oak Hill., thanks to one of the good folks at the TVRC. Here is Texas Motocross Legend, Kirk Spencer, showing me the fast way around the track.

10/28/2009 7:51 AM I double checked and the plastic spacers are part 09180-12068. I don't know why you are ending up with a seal.

11/17/2009 8:24 PM The adventures of the '82 RM250Z continue with the third race under it's belt. The bike lived up to it's reputation as the works bike of it's day with two holeshots at the vintage races Sunday. Good times!

http://1982rm250z.wordpress.com/ I'm also in need of these discontinued collars if anyone can help: I’m looking for a couple of the #13 collars shown here http://alpha-sports.com/smoto/1982 RM250/33.htm
