Edited Date/Time 3/2/2016 8:40am
Hi,
I just wanted to share a picture of my 1980 OW40. This bike and another were given to Neil Hudson to race, It is my understanding Pete Mathia ended up racing bike. Gas tank has original paint and graphics. Sorry for bad picture.

I just happened to know the man that owned it.I called and we made a deal within 10 minutes..I have only seen 2 OW's in person. The other one was twin to this and was the other bike given to Neal Hudson..
Good luck with sale, looks like you put alot of effort into it.

Didn't come from Peter did it? Was cool to watch him thrashing his OW at Diamond Don's a few years back. Amazing bike! Thanks for sharing, but....more pics and details please.

Hi, No this isnt Peters bike. It is in fact the brother of his that were both given to Neal .
I saw his the year I was at DD. Both bikes have the same hand written initials on the seat base.

Hehe…no promises Kevin but it's on my bucket list (for the second time). I'll tell you this, I would love to ride my 76 Elsinore on that track, but I'm likely to stick to my 83 CR250 & YZ175 as I recall watching guys like Cooper cresting the gravity Cavity on those Bultacos with 7" of suspension travel in utter amazement at MX Rewind 1. 2016 will mark my 4th year off a bike so it kinda seems right to get back on the bike…I came across the below photo of me on the starting line at MX Rewind 1. When that photo was taken I was making a front brake adjustment.

I wanted to be more ready than i was for last year. In the end it didn't matter. I can't have more fun than the most fun I can have .I also drove out of the track in the same vehicle I came in and slept in my own bed Sunday night, not an ER bed. My finishes and bike set up didn't matter . You ride that 76 CR and love it. Ill bet 75% of the old men racing there are in the same situation.

There was some guy at MX Rewind 2012 riding a white maybe 75 CR125 with a red engine (had a Mugen kit in it), and man was that guy hauling ass! I could not believe how fast that little bike came out of the gate so I'm hoping I get similar results with the Mugen kit I am currently putting on my 76…now there's just that issue with the gravity cavity…I'm gonna have to work on jumping that little Elsinore off big jumps, because while I'd be riding my bike in post vintage (it has 10" travel), jumping off into gravity cavity is no problem, however coming out (where you get some air) sort of freaks me out on this bike (it only has 38mm forks)…truth be told, I haven't been on an historic bike since 1979…and believe it or not, that year I rode a hand me down 76 Elsinore that looks exactly like the one I own now (same parts less the simons forks & fox airs, I had a Terry fork kit/S&W shocks at that time).
