Sorry, can't help with your question, but 1 of my all time favorite bikes was the 88 cr125!!! I went from the 85 model to the 88, what a difference.
Good luck with your restoration.
Would love to see some pictures when you are done.

I picoed up a 88 cr125 for $50.00 barn find. It is great shape. Even has PC cr125 pipe, some little plastic grey brake lever factory look protector. Came with complete rebuild kit, spare spokes for f/r wheels, 3-4 sets of piston rings. Some sort of electronic boost box (answer racing). Plastic perfect, seat perfect. Runs. Rebuild motor this winter.
CoolCool
Maybe wrong throttle housing?

You make me sick haha!! Mine was $50 also, but has been outdoors for over a decade. I don't even want to get into all of the stuff I have replaced, lol. Let's just say I was able to salvage the frame, forks, triple clamps, airbox, seat base and swingarm. I wouldn't tackle one in this condition again, but this particular model has a lot of sentimental value for me.

Mine had an Answer Roost Boost on it too! Must have been the hot setup. I believe history has pretty much judged the Roost Boost as useless.

The grey resevoir cover looks suspiciously like the Honda Racing part from the 80's. Nice find

The grey brake reservoir guard was readily available back in the eighties from TMV, White Bros and Pro Circuit. They were made by TMV in Holland as a copy of the Factory Honda guards, they usually came with fork and disc guards as a complete kit.

That's an excellent find!! Couple things I noticed
1) Does that shock reservoir clear the pipe? The 88 had the reservoir up top on the original shock, with the pipe routed up top. The reason I'm interested is that I was kicking around the idea of putting an 89 model shock with the side reservoir on mine, because the 87-88 configuration was notorious for short oil life and overheating.
2) Someone has added an additional spacer in your ATAC, probably to try and get more bottom end. That's interesting.

Clearly somebody put some thought and $$ into that machine once upon a time!! Good find, I'm jealous!

Came with both the stock and Ohlins. I was looking at the Ohlins at the time on the bike when the photo was taken. yes the pipe would interfere with the reservoir. Maybe make a change to pipe, or dismiss the shock and run stock shock. Also picked up Kawasaki gpz 750 in the deal for $75.00. Not quite as good, but runs. Need seat, windshield. EvilEvilEvilWoohoo

Fair play, but I have an original at home that came on a Honda GB bike and that one looks awfully simular!! I've got a few copy ones too.

But who knows....................
