If the teacher had a gun...that could have been stopped. Maybe knives need to be outlawed now???

No, we need to register all hunting knives and ban the scary & mean assault knives.

Then the Fed can buy up all the knife sharpeners so theres a shortage and run up the price of whetstones !

Imagine if he had an automatic weapon. Perhaps his parents had some sense and locked them up. If they had any.

Still nothing on my local news about it. Must not be scary enough if there wasn't a gun involved.

Time to register knives guys. These mass stabbings happen too often.

Sure is. Inanimate object that does absolutely nothing unless picked up by a human.

I am a teacher. I often think of the things I would do if any of my students were ever in danger. You really have to think about it because we are charged with their care while students are on campus, yet, we are told to do nothing but call authorities in all cases.

Many teachers, in the past, have done very heroic things to save the lives of their students, or just anyone on campus, and have been charged with assualt, detained for questioning, or even sued for allegedly touching a boob. I had a professor in college when I was getting my teaching credential who broke up a fight at a high school and was sued by one of the girls for groping her breast. He spent over a year in a legal battle and gained 35 pounds. There was no evidence to either side, so case was dropped

Yes, but one is designed to kill and other is designed for sports.

Pretty sure you can kill someone with a baseball bat, and guns are used for sport every day.

Guns arent designed to kill per se. I use mine for plinking and target shooting. I dont hunt a single thing. Hunting is boring as hell to me.

Thats because you are a sick and demented wack-job exiled to a remote locale to protect society. Wink

If I want good meat on the table, I put another calf in the feedlot or a pig in the pen. No wild game out there beats do-it-yourself ribeyes or home-grown pork ribs. Tongue

Maybe they can make a tracking wrist band that a user has to put on before a knife will work.

Or limit the number of blades on a pocket knife.

They could outlaw all kitchen knives so we have to use pocket knives and then have fingerprint scanners on them that you would have to register for before the knife would open and then there would be less mass stabbing. But I don't know what we're going to do about the chainsaws that people have in their garages. Those will be hard to put a thumbprint analyzer on to prevent mass casualty incidents that involve chainsaws

Let`s be thankful that he didn`t have access to guns. A lot of kids are not dead right now because somebody did something right.

I put in for my first Elk hunt, no pigs or turkeys this year.

There really should be good Samaritan laws to prevent people from getting in trouble when something like this happens. There are Good Samaritan laws to prevent people from getting sued as an innocent bystander if somebody chokes at a restaurant or if someone's heart stops and it should be applied to situations like you described.

I see the answer in Gatlinburg all the time, rubber tomahawks and knjves.

We need to be like Japan or China, when you act crazy or have a mental problem you disappear.

That would leave me and 3 others here.

All knives sold in California will now be required to have blade buttons. What the hell is a blade button?

Any weapon is a dangerous thing in the hands of a maniac.
Effectiveness between knives & guns is an old argument.
Guns are more effective in a defense manner & also in an offense/assault manner.
But it seems maniacs will make due with what they have.
It's the maniac that plans the assault in his mind and acts it out.
I believe that is the MAJOR issue here...
