Flash floods, hail, and even a few tornados. Mother nature has not been kind this month.

Some pics from friends back home thismorning. This storm will be rolling through Des Moines shortly.

Had a tornado here last night. Luckily there wasn't much damage but it sucks being holed up in the basement for an hour with those wretched sirens blaring the whole time, wondering when your number's gonna come up.

I was driving up through Kentucky and Ohio last night. I got just past Cincinnati, looked at the weather, and bagged it for the night.

Glad I did. There was a mess of storm damage in South Bend. On one golf course near Notre Dame, I saw probably over 30 huge old trees bent, broken, or just uprooted.

Meanwhile up here in the Pacific NW it was an unbearable 92 degrees yesterday. Fortunately it will cool down to a more comfortable 82 today.

It's more like six, and nothing a decent coat can't remedy.

I love mother nature. I've been through one tornado and I just find that stuff fascinating. Now that I have a house, I have a hard time enjoying it all as much anymore. I always wanted to be a storm chaser but never followed through with it.
