Just 2 euro whitetail mounts I did myself. A nice 8 pointer and a small 6 that I took with my muzzleloader.

The youngest son has a axis buck head on his bedroom wall. Not sure where he got the hunting bug from but he dove in head first with his first one while at summer camp back when he was about 12 or 13 years old. Shot it, hauled it back to camp, dressed it all out and vacuum packed all the meat himself.

One of the local taxidermists told a story about a rather odd married couple that didn't have any children that had recently lost their beloved little pooch and wanted it stuffed in a standing mount.

He was real busy at the time and really didn't want to do it anyway but agreed to do it for them after they kept pressing him. Then after all the sob stories and pressure they said they couldn't afford the price given and started in again about how much this dog meant to them and he caved in and agreed to help them out and do it for $20 amount that they could afford and got their money.

Knowing how much this pet meant to them he did a meticulously good job on it. He gave them a call when it was done and they told him that they had since had a change of heart and couldn't bear to see their dead pet stuffed and didn't think they wanted it after all.

He was frikkin livid after doing them a favor and told them if they had a change of heart again they could find it in a nearby dumpster.

They have a cool mount at the local gander mtn. It's a grizzly bear standing on top of half a moose. The story is a hunter shot the moose late in the day and when they returned in the morning ,the ass end was mangled from the grizzly bear who was still standing over the moose carcass ,they shot the grizzly bear and had a mount done to show the grizzly standing over the moose.

Man, I don't see the attraction or merit in shooting down a beautiful polar bear or lion and sticking it on your wall. An Antelope for the meat makes sense.

They are all going to die from global warming anyway. Just saving them the life of suffering. Actually I believe that's a grizzly and not a polar bear. But it's not really my cup of tea either. Just stopped in looking for souvenirs.

Sweet mounts Huck! I really like the woody. Wish I would have mounted one of the ones I have shot over the years. Maybe if I get one this season. I am going to buy a new bow soon and hope to get a nice elk so I can have. Head mount done.

We do it, just to prove that we're at the top of the food chain! Merica!

My brother in-law is pretty talented, as a young man he's mounted flyers and runners but over the last 10 years he's gone into carving. His Silver and Kings are chizzled out of Madrone, native wood that protects many tributaries and spawning beds in Nor Cal/So Oregon.

He's auctioned several off for the local Ducks Unlimited and Rocky Mountain Elk events, made a few connections there. But as they say Artist want to make art, I think he's waiting for someone to discover him....lol. He lives off the grid, no internet access and no eagerness to jump in... probably describes a number of artist. But yes, I think he's done well on the few he's sold.

Question. Why are people so proud to kill an animal, stuff it, and hang it on their wall? Just asking.

Why do people wear leopard print clothes? Why do people hang another man's MX jersey on their way? Why do people wear their pants down so low that their underwear show?

Just asking?
