Got the itch again.

My last bike was a s&m i built with a free coaster and brake less. Used to ride concrete parks and Fl street along with the trail jumps I had build that was shitty and very sketchy after the 110 rutted the faces and cased them all

Whats everyone else riding?

My son and I just started racing this year. I'm on a chase edge pro xl and he's on a chase edge junior. My youngest son is on a strider and had his first race a couple weeks ago. My dad has actually been hitting up some practices with us too, so hopefully we can get all 4 of us racing one night. This us been such an awesome sport for us to do together. The guys at Bonzai BMX in little rock are down to earth and accommodating. We are actually asphalting the last turn this morning so I'm about to head over there.

I don't have an actual bmx anymore but I ride my dirtjump mtb at the bmx track, last night was fun other than being 100 degrees out. I ride a Deity Cryptkeepr.

When you say you race, is this the gist of what you're doing?

I used to ride lots, had two years of back injury that ended my serious riding. Now I'm the old dude that flows the park fast, low, and smooth.

from what i've seen, Josh (JM485) is a bad mother f*cker on a bmx bike.

my cousin is ridiculous, backflip tailspin variations, it's nuts what he can do on a bike.

i used to get around all the dirt-jump parks and raced here and there, but i was never very talented on one. too light for my tastes.

Rode mainly street for a few years with park and dirt jumping thrown in. We would have hit up more parks/trails but we were young and didn't have cars yet.

I still have my United su3 complete with a bunch of parts on it replaced from breaking stuff lol. I don't think I've touched it in 3-4 years though.

At what point did the term BMX become synonymous with freestyle? I mean, people can say BMX and be talking about two different things.

Thanks for the props Peelbro! I used to race for a few years, have a couple state championships for my class. After I got hurt pretty bad practicing I pretty much stopped racing and just rode for fun. I'm not much of a trick guy, I just like to hit dirt jumps and flow around the park! My favorite trick is just doing whips.Laughing I just found a killer new bike park in south Tahoe last week when I was there with my family, they made all of the jumps from wood and had dirt landings. There's a quick video of it on my IG page, but here's a picture of one jump. The rest are just some various pictures I've gotten throughout the last few years.

^Nice! I love the SE's. There's also a bike called the Avenger by We The People that is pretty unique and awesome in that it's an old school frame with 29" wheels. My next build is gonna be kind of a moto throwback to my childhood. I'm wanting to do a neon green frame with the anodized purple Box components. I'm wanting to do it sort of like a 90's Emig Kawi replica. I'm probably gonna start piecing together the components over the next year so hopefully I get it done.

JM485, rollin64caddy,

Mad skills! I raced BMX for quite some time but I really wanted just a smidge of what you guys have. We used to have a huge BMX ride area, in the trees with natural jumps etc, and we would stay there til dark. I tried over and over to get an old school (was not old then) flat table top, never quite got there. Made me appreciate the skills that you guys posses.

I think Ive seen that SE racing cruiser posted here before. So awesome.

If you guys havent seen it, there is a French guy that has massive collection of JT stuff. And he has some cool BMX bikes too. I forgot how cool the Haro vented number plate! Also, I noticed one of his bikes have the bear trap pedals. I always cringe a little every time I see them! They look like shin annihilators!

Edit: For third grade grammar. Im a moran.

about 1986 bmx became freestyle.........I raced in the late 70's early 80's ....as bmxer's back then...we were taught to stay low and not jump.....not...jump as high as you can and spin your bike three times while your in the air....

That would look sweet with a front number board paying homage to the Emig graphics..... Oh and an old school black shift jersey Evil

Kzizok.... I have posted photos of my BMXs on here before in another thread, thanks it is awesome sooo much fun to ride.

It's funny because I made the transition from racing to freestyle (if you can even call my lame tricks freestyle), and I still have a pretty prominent racing style. I'm good at speed jumping stuff if I need to and getting speed through rollers. Honestly, bmx should be a requirement to ride moto bikes as well, so much stuff transitions over it's crazy.

Wow, cool thread. Grew up riding Sheep Hills, watching guys like Sean Butler, Carey Hart, and Brian Foster. BMX is what got me into moto. All my riding these days purely consists of moto, I'd love to get back into BMX, but it's just not in the cards for me at this juncture

Old Man and rubarb,

Those photos are awesome! Old man, the scene in the pic with your daughter and her medal looks just like the days of local MX!

rubarb, the look in the second pic! Priceless! "Yeah, my bike has a silencer"!!

Good times, good times!

It's like riding with a baseball card in the spokes, same thing except it's a plastic card insert. Pretty funny, little dude gets so psyched riding that thing

I ride the local park when I can, used to ride a lot more but it can be hard to make the time for it. I recently built up this mid-school build. 2002 Standard TRLS250, big ole sprocket, new Tree Hubs laced to Rhynolites, etc. I hate the geometry of most new frames and I like longer rear ends. Before this bike I was riding an Empire/S&M frame with a similar parts layout. Here are some OLD pictures too.
