I'm wondering, do they get paid appearance/performance fees by Discovery?

I just can't watch more than about 10 minutes of that show for some reason and I don't know why. It just bores me for some reason. I like Mike Rowe though (narrates Deadliest Catch) and especially like his Dirty Jobs show.

Yeah and those capt's egos get bigger every year too.
As do their bank accounts.

I'm addicted also.. They had a marathon on all weekend. It was cool seeing the older shows from 2005. I read the Captains get paid, but the crews don't get paid for being on TV. And maybe the Captains split some of the money with the crew?

Me and my wife watch every episode......The guys from the Time Bandit sat right in front of us at the Seattle SX . We were bullshitting with them all night , they are way down to earth people. My kid got Stewarts autograph and my wife got all the guys on the Time Bandit , it was a pretty cool night.

I love watching that show and that other comedy "Axe Men". LMAO!!!! It's like watching a bunch of amateurs pretending to be professionals. Reminds me of the douchers you see down at the local amusement park taking the little go-carts waaaaay too seriously.

There's a reson that is a dangerous job, and it has little to do with the high seas and frigid water. It has more to do with the shady ass equipment and the TOTAL douchers in charge who put the crew at-risk because they're stooopid.

I laugh my ass off at those shows.

I think the Axe Men guys are even more amateurish. I love the worthless old pricks who like to talk shit to the new kids because they don't know certain little idiosynchrosies of the silly job. "Back in my day, I used to clear cut an entire continent in one day when I was yer age son." Typical no-talent ass clowns who have to put others down in order to boost their pathetically (and deservedly so) low self-esteem.

I personaly know people that are or have been on both Deadliest Catch and Axe Men. The big dogs in the logging industry refused to be on the show because of editing for drama and or to make some one look stupid.Same thing with Deadliest Catch. Why do you think that there are new boats every year? The captains/owners dont like the way they are portrayed, and refuse to come back for another season.Sig Hansen is an advisor for the show and thats why there is nothing negative about the Northwestern. In season 2 the Northwestern had a deck load of crab that we all saw on t.v.What we didnt see was that a majority of those crab were dead and not fit for consumption. All those crab were thrown back over board. What you are watching has been edited for drama and excitement.

Edited for drama or not both of those shoes are very dangerous to film and be a part of.

100 foot boats in the middle of the sea ain't nothing but a drop of water in the world.
