Need suggestions.
Me, the wife, and 2 little kids still in diapers(10mo and almost 3).
Feb 2nd till Feb 9th.
Wanna hit the Supercross, Zoo, Sea Word, the USS Midaway(again) what else ?

Can anybody suggest a nice place(hotel/motel/condo/resort etc.) to rent for a week near a nice beach in the area that will not be super expensive ? Would prefer to forgo renting a car ,and just take the Trolly where we need to go.(Do not feel like bringing 2 car seats on the plane but will if we have to, if we can stay close a beach.)
We went a few years ago and b4 kids and stayed in the Gas Lamp district and had a blast, but we will be going for a week not a weekend this time and have two little rug rats so bar hopping and shopping will not be on the agenda...
Any suggestions, or even better, "hook ups" would be great.
Thanks in advance.

I've stayed here before http://winnerscircleresort.com - I liked it.
It's right by the horse track in Delmar / Solana Beach area.
I liked it better then staying in San Diego....it's a bit North but not a bad drive at all down to the Mission Beach area or the stadium. But you'd obviously have to rent a car & car seats.
Here's their rates - not super expensive at all.

You may want to look into these places also.

Usually when I would go to San Diego I always stayed North of there.
There's also some Hotels right in Carlsbad near the beach.
It was a quiet area last time I stayed there.

I have stayed in downtown San Diego it self but never liked it. Smile

Check out the Coronado Island Marriott. Right on San Diego Bay, short walk to the fairy downtown (Midway/Star of India, trolley stations/Seaport Village) and about a mile/mile and a half to Coronado Beach (best beach in Southern California in my opinion). I don't think it would be too difficult to go a week without a car if you stayed there.

Ended up renting a 2 bedroom condo in Imperial Beach, right on the beach. Thanks for your suggestions guys.
