When I was a teenager I used to spend a lot of money on new clothes. I think it had a lot to do with tying to stay relevant. I was really into the skateboarding and motocross scene so I bought a lot of "company" branded shirts and jeans. Now that I'm older, I noticed I haven't bought an article of clothing in over 3 years, and what I have bought has been very cheap JC Penny blank shirts and Levi's jeans. My wife is always giving me a hard time about how I never want to spend money on clothes, so she always ends up buying me stuff for holidays...

What's your style, how has it changed over the years, and how often do you buy clothes? Do you dress to represent a certain lifestyle (ie- Moto, skateboarding, surfing) or to impress a significant other? I know some guys dress how their ladies want them to dress...Laughing

I try to dress like rex, so I don't get my ass kicked, heres what he has to say about cloths:
rex:"Take a look at what I'm wearing, people [in sunglasses and matching American flag pants and bandana]. You think anybody wants a roundhouse kick to the face while I'm wearing these bad boys? Forget about it. Last off, my students will learn about self respect. You think anybody thinks I'm a failure because I go home to Starla at night? [Points at a photo of his wife, a blonde, tan, muscular body-builder] Forget about it! "

Dedicated Good Will patron and benefactor. The clothes are usually in pretty decent shape, and the price's can't be beat. Much like the OP, my wife picks up the occasional nifty new thing, and about the only other new thing I'll get is if I go to an event or vacation spot.

I'm a tight ass, but I like to be comfortable, so my style is cheap comfy. I buy Wrangler jeans because they're cheaper than Levis but just as comfortable, and I've been wearing cargo shorts and t-shirts every summer since the early 2000s.

I have not picked out clothes in years. I have not worn long pants in years and not even sure i own any that don't go to a suit. Lol My wife set me up with 2 companies that ask you a few questions about your lifestyle and they send you an outfit a month. If you don't like something they replace it and ask why so they can figure your style out. One is called Par4 and sends me all golf attire. Its pretty cool. I'm board shorts and crocs most days for as long as i can remember.

I don't keep up on all the fashion lingo but I think the style is called birth control. Mainstay items include jeans your grandma would wear and t-shirts that toe the line between garage shirt and garage rag.

Cowboy boots. Moto shirt of some kind usually and regular jeans. Nothing too fancy.

I'm not sure how old a lot of you are, but its funny how I can relate to all the "I spend the least amount possible on clothes" comments. I went to the mall yesterday with my lady and I was people watching while she was shopping, and it blows my mind how many 'hipster' tool bags wander around now. All these kids (and some grown ass men) dressing like they're a homeless justin bieber.... The ratty shirts with the super skinny high-water jeans and some vans with no socks on, or the sandals with athletic socks and shorts with some sort of crazy print button down t-shirt.

Style? My 'style' is cheap and practical. I keep tearing up my jeans and my wife keeps fixing 'em. Patches piled on patches. If you aint blowin' out the front of your britches, you aint working. Wink

My style is anything reasonably priced at Costco or Samsclub. Only time I really buy clothes is when I add an extra inch or two to my waist lol

What's with the jeans that come brand new looking like they were worn by a junk yard mechanic ?

I don't like to be a walking billboard...so I don't wear anything with any brand names showing...most of my T-Shirts I bought at races or are plain color simple T-shirts.

I wear jeans most days, and shorts the other.

I have to dress "business casual" for work about 3 days a week...and that sucks...

I used to hate v-necks and now I have a bunch. Also, I'm in my 30s and I still buy tons of band shirts. No fucks given.

I was just told by my wife I have to buy new shorts this weekend. Apparently my tan cargo shorts make me look like a fool. I've had the same pair for at least 8 years now. They still wear nice.

"you buy $12 six packs of beer but wont go spend a few $$ on some up to date casual clothes!".

Just waiting for that 30% Kohls coupon to arrive in the mail.
