I've posted some lower quality videos and some studio songs, but here's a nicer video of a new song that'll be on the next album!

Gotta admit, that's the first time I've heard that! That song is a little too low for her register, but to each his own Grinning

Sorry, that was harsh, she's not that bad really. Live performances always sound worse than a recording. I'll check out your other videos later Smile

I think your band sounds great! Now I just need some beer and flip flops so I can pretend I'm not stuck at work.

4. Image is actually important. Cargo shorts are for dads at a barbecue. Not for musicians on stage.

Tongue
I'm not saying we're the most image concious band, but nobody on stage is wearing cargo shorts in that video Cool

Writing songs and getting everybody together on it is some difficult stuff. You guys seem to have a handle on that. Playing it live is the easy and fun part.
Studio recording is basically hell. I'm doing it now. With my old band back in the analog days we would work on recording, doing shit over and over and then mixing and nobody was happy and blah blah. At some point we would just say fuck it, call some friends over with some beers and a little boo and just play.

Anyway we were never good enough to make any money but we didn't care. 7/8ths of the road to stardom is the songwriting. Writing something that people really like and want to pay for. There are a million bands that can cover and many times it's just as good as the original but it's the original writer that has all the money. You guys are a really tight band and it sounds good. Got to write a really special song though to go to the next level.

There's a baseball analogy that works here too: Shake the tree and a hundred gloves fall out. Keep shaking and you will probably get more gloves and maybe 1 bat. It's that 1 kid that can hit the slider that you're looking for. In music it's probably more like 1000 to 1. Or maybe more.

Thanks! I agree, settling on final parts to record with, then mixing can be quite frustrating.
